My bitdi build thread

Not sure if it’s the angle of the pics but the wheels look a lot smaller than the rotors you had before.

Deafo still 20's mate.
I think the rotors looked bigger being black as the blended with the tyres more. Whereas now I have the rim of the wheel diamond cut you can see the size more

Well they are supposed to be heat resistant decals designed for calipers. But we'll see how long they last. I think the pressure washer might kill them

I've had Quattro decals on mine for over 3 years and they are still there :)

Wheels look good; car needs a beating with the lowering stick though :D

I know mate but Unfortunately the wife is dead against lowering I even tried to the old 'it will improve the ride and make is smoother'
Any ideas chaps?

Nice upgrade mate. The design doesn’t help in terms of filling arches as the rotors gave a larger appearance so in comparison they look less full.

They suit the car. 21s would have been perfect

Eibach or H&R springs. Subtle and quite effective without being slammed.

What's the price of the coilovers Vs just the springs please lads?

Easy enough to fit yourself or a pro job?

What's the mileage on the car?? I replaced my shocks and springs last year (Eibach springs OEM shocks) with the mileage at 105,000

You could argue anything above 80,000 is getting 'tired'.........then you just replace with new stuff and tell her that new suspension always starts lower when new lol

Decent Coilovers are more expensive than just springs but if your cars high mileage I’d also be changing shocks too. I had mine done at my local indie if the bolts are seized I don’t think it’s something you’d want to do on the drive.

Mileage is only 74k at the mo but I think your thinking

£180ish for springs.

£1k+ for a decent set of coils

Plus the cost of some decent shocks & at least with coilovers you get the height you want where as with lowering springs it’s never as low as you’d like.

new wheels look much better (minus kerbing) rotors starting to look dated, i'm looking at getting something similar but going for GMP copies rather than reps, i wouldn't trust a wheel out of china!

Thanks mate. Have had any issue with the laquer flaking off which I'm arguing with the company I bought from to get this sorted.

I’d be sending those straight back. What Wheel cleaner have you been using on them ?

Only cleaned them once mate. Always bilberry pH neutral wheel cleaner. No acids.
I'm currently having a discussion with the company I bought them from.

Mate, it’s why I hate reps - quality is shocking. Bear in mind they’re in contact with the road (along with tyres of course) so their quality and integrity needs to be 100% to keep you and your family safe. And don’t go for cheap tyres either.

Hope you get it sorted and find a set of OEM quality rims

100% agree with this, having worked for an alloy wheel company some of the reps we had seen looked identical but the inner rims in some cases were way too shallow for the application (to save material) basically meaning that under high stress the tyre could have escaped

Cool. keep an eye on the inside for any cracks appearing as its a common trait with reps as they can buckle and crack easily.
Have you sold the Rotors?

Cheers mate. I've hit a few potholes and all is good. I still have the rotors in the garage might sell them and buy some better quality wheels. I do like ispiri ffr1's

Yeah the company paid for the refurb. I'm going to see how they go over the winter and maybe change wheels again in the spring

Who did you purchase the wheels from? I’m looking at getting a set of alloys off of eBay but now I’m a tad unsure after seeing this.
Glad you were able to get it resolved.

Had me Bitdi A6 stage 1 tuned today and achieved 332bhp standard and 380bhp and 760nm with a stage 1 custom tune.
Car feels so fast. Well was already fast but now faster lol

Having driven the car most of the weekend I can report the extra power can be felt and feels good the way the power and torque builds from around 1800rpm and never stops or drops off until redline at 5100rpm. Before you know it your in license losing territory
3rd,4th and 5th gear are like warp speed .
Anyway I'm happy if you can't tell!
