Found this net/holder in the boot when I acquired the car. Anyone know how/where it's attached in the boot? I tried the various hooks/loops but nothing looks right or stay attached

It goes across from the hooks in the corners. It's designed to go over anything that's likely to move about. eg - I occasionally carry a propane cylinder and it stops it rolling.
I never got one with my A3, but I have one from an A6 I had 20 years ago - they haven't changed the design!!

Yeah the four body-coloured hooks, one in each corner. Also for bigger stuff you attach to the hooks marked "Top tether" on the seat back.

Hi Wibbly,

You may not be aware of this but your boot floor carpet has 2 height setting and when you raise it to the higher setting the cargo net fits more snugly and looks more obvious with its fitting positions

cheers

David.

Also worth knowing if you lift the boot floor up to just over the carrier bag holders then pop them out it holds the boot floor to give you unrestricted access to the spare wheel and tools should you ever need them

you should have 2 pop out holders anyway, no need to use the bag holder. on mine, the little pop out bit contains the LED boot light.

I must be daft, i thought the lower boot floor was an option. I've looked at mine and it can't go any lower as the spare wheel is in the way?!

Quattro?

4WD models don't have the low floor option.

its not lower, its higher! no-one can go lower than the position in the photo above (1st post)

As I said I'm daft, I forgot about the additional hardware beneath my boot floor that makes my back wheels grip as well as my front, lmao.

I could have done with a lower boot floor though as I struggle to get a pushchair in there with anything more than a bag full of shopping.

For the record, boot floor in upper position now and cargo net fitted as, I think, intended...

Depends on your start point!! In this thread you have 2 pictures. The 1st picture in the 1st post, the boot floor is in the lower position. You can tell this by looking at the rear sides where the mount points are. 2nd picture in the post above yours, the boot floor is in the raised position. I think in the A3, if you have Quattro or the subwoofer in the boot, then you cant lower it, it has one position.

It must be in the low position because It’s lower than the mounting points
