Hi

So another electrical gremlin has surfaced.... i can't help but think this is linked to the fact the car doesn't think the battery is being charged or something is draining the battery while the car is off.....

So now the handbrake won't release. It was fine last night but come this morning it doesn't want to turn off.

But i did notice that the power boot and MMI was taking ages to work as if there wasn't enough power to operate them until the engine had run for a minute.

Any suggestions for how to get the handbrake to release greatly appreciated!

I definitely think it's all connected though.

On the plus side... the parking sensors seem to randomly work so they're not broken and it's definitely a loose connection somewhere that i'm going to fix tomorrow with any luck.

Cheers for any suggestions.

Think i might have fixed it..... luckily with the 5 spoke wheels i could get my hand behind the calipers and check the connection. It appears it needed a "waggle" and now it seems to have gone away. Perhaps some water got in that i dislodged or it just wan't right on. Either that or audi connetions are hyper sensitive. But either way a good waggle seems to have sorted it.

Tell a lie. It's not gone away. Getting the attached on DIS.

Anyone had this before?
Thanks in advance

I don't suppose the airbag light is on too? I've heard of the EPB malfunction happening at the same time as airbag issues, which is usually the connections under the front seats.

EDIT: Ignore me... Just clicked on the image and realised you can see the airbag light when it's maximised.... which isn't on

Just got stuck somewhere for 25 mins. Then it just randomly turned off. Leaving it in park for now and not parking on any hills. Lol.

Call to garage tomorrow as it will be under warranty. Reckon it's a dodgy button as click coming from underneath but nothing happens.

Thanks. Checked the seat wiring anyway. Just in case

A colleague of mine has just had a similar experience. New battery, under warranty sorted the problem.

Yeah I think that might be a route to go down. Diagnostics did say the voltage regulator is showing no signal or output.

However the battery is charging. I'm taking it in again tomorrow for another more detailed diagnostic as I think it's all related. Hopefully a change in alternator/ battery will sort it all out.

I was going to say battery... apparently an early sign of a bad battery is lots of little seemingly unlinked electrical gremlins

sorry for slow reply.... been on holiday..... it looks like i've found the source of the problem.... but not fixed it yet..... will share pictures and updates on it once it's sorted this week as might be useful to others ;-)
