2 Black Audi S4 Avant's stolen last night, Epsom area

Yeah, I'm told that's 100k worth, thought it would be more.

Perfect time to get driveway bollards installed. Lock them up every night.

My parents had them fitted in 2004 after one of my old cars was stolen off their driveway.

What went wrong, my S5 is in Audi dealers getting this done, went in yesterday?

Sorry for late reply, all I got from Audi was that the first set of replacement rails were also faulty. But honestly who knows????

My thoughts entirely. Couple of hundred quid extra for two of them. Need two so that if anyone tried to nick one of the minis they couldn't squeeze through the gap.

Would get the ones that lower into the ground, not the folding ones as I once saw someone park near one, get it wrong and it ripped the tyre off!!

Got mine fitted today, no problems so far, fingers crossed the recall sorts the issue.

Long overdue update.

My neighbours S4 that was stolen (reg ending GLD) was recovered some months back and was found to have been used as a fast get away car, as well as being used to transport stolen catalytic converters, which were left rattling around in the car and destroyed the immaculate interior! Needless to say after so much damage was done (I saw the pics, it was heartbreaking!) he didn't want the car back.

His private plate is now on another black Audi so if you see it, it's not stolen!

Would have updated earlier but not been on here for ages as I traded in my S4 for the fear of it being stolen, ok, that's a lie, it was because it was jumping in reverse which I read was early sign of gearbox failure!

***If there is a moderator reading this can they remove the private plate details from this thread please? Thanks.

Hi,was the panel easy to remove to gain access to obd, regards

Fiddly and awkward enough to slow down a blaggard, does not just pop off, but easy enough to do at home with a socket & ratchet and your head under the dash, kneeling on the floor outside the car. Couple of minutes.
Easy to open steel box (if you have got the key), Otherwise need a big hammer and chisel.
Empty hole where OBD should be, hopefully is enough to put them off.

hello , new member unable to PM had my mint S4 stolen off the drive in 2019/20 14 S4s were stolen nationally , five are mentioned here in the epsom /sutton/north surrey area sounds like a local gang , is there any way to share details privately about the cars to see if there is a common link? surely you can't program a key transponder through the OBD socket that's just madness
