What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Having spent a fair few hours this week copying a large part of my cd collection to my iPhone I finally had my first taste of apple car play on the Alpine unit, and from my first experience it seems very good.
Very pleased thus far with the unit and its functions , still a lot to mess around with too.
Voice commands is brill on this item aswell, does everything I need plus more.:icon thumright:

Just waiting on the proper alpine CAN I/F lead to setup camera's, oh happy days.:yahoo:

Car play is good... the app integration and voice control is very good. I insisted on having a CD player on my head unit but now only use Tidal as it’s so much more convenient and sounds great (streams in CD quality) Also free internet radio from Tune In radio is great. I also find I use the google maps app more than my built in Garmin. Waze is also a must.

Now your settled with ya new head unit, do ya still have your cd player ?

have you remapped yet ?
I bet you have noticed an marked improvement already , when I first fitted the 034 with custom downpipe the improvement across the whole rpm range was very noticible, mid range had the biggest gains, great sound aswell.:thumbs up:

Not yet, but that's HPFP, cat and full exhaust, so remap next when funds allow. Realistically looking at early next year now.

Definitely feel it gets up to speed quicker in the mid range. Less time building/spooling.

However, with the resonated Milltek, the exhaust is quieter than stock. Could probably have got away with non-resonated without ******* off the neighbours, which was a big consideration.

I did the same thing...fully resonated system as I didn’t want the whole street to hear me coming and going.
It’s definitely got louder the more it bedded in, even had it back up on the ramps to make sure it wasn’t loose!

A small but long overdue job, swapped the glovebox lock barrels .
Had to fit a replacement handle/catch assembly a while back but the main key would not work with the new lock , I've been meaning to swap over the original barrel for ages, finally done it this evening.
Hurrah , now able to lock the glove box again.:yahoo:

Little cosmetic upgrade for the *** end. Welded on some new tips. They fill the space much nicer.

How are yours holding up Rob? They’re the same exact ones you put on a few years back

I thought they look the same.
I changed mine for quads earlier this year, not because of any problems , just really liked the look of 90mm quads.

looks very smart, what functions can you get from it Rob, rather like that instead of my current round gauge.

Does quite a bit just from the OBD port...
Boost/ Vacuum
0-60mph
Batt voltage
Coolant temp
Throttle position
Exhaust gas temp
Intake air temp
RPM with selectable shift light
and probably more than I haven’t found yet.

It does even more if you hook it up to various analogue sensors.
I’ve still got my Newsouth gauge ready to go in one of the middle vents when I get some time to plumb it in. This thing only took five minutes to install.

Nothing major today, postman pat delivered the Alpine cable I was missing .
Alpine UK were very helpful , no leads in the uk but the tech support guys found a spare one and supplied it FOC, very nice of them.
I can finally complete the HU fit with camera and aux input , also hook up the speed pulse .

happy days.:yahoo:

19" alloys needed fresh tyres so got 18's back on, probably stay on now until spring next year.
I like how it looks now with the 18's, think I prefer it to the bigger alloys, no doubt I'll change my mind again and swap them over. Might have to take some pics to compare and make my mind up...

Refurbished wheels and new tyres.

Site is telling me that the pics are too large, but never had a problem before.

Anyway, I think they look rather pretty!

Finally got round to sorting my engine mounts out with some 034 motorsport street dinisty mounts and at the same time upgrading my anti roll bars to H&R 32mm front and 22mm rear 2 way adjustable (only on first holes) and wow what a difference it has all made already steering feels nice and tight and cornering. The front does have more weight than the OEM but feels solid against the hollow feel of the OEM. The rear is defo different in size over the OEM Worth the £££

Nice Job, any feedback on the mounts? I have the 034 trans mount not really happy with it.

So far feel better as one of my OEM mounts had leaked its fluid so could feel the engine slopping around and gear changes started to suffer. But on first test drive everything feels snug again and feels better on gear changes... shame was looking to change my front transfer box mount and rear diff mount to make sure everything matches

well it appears i may have developed a transmission problem,

the car A4 B7 Avant 55plate, 2.5 163bhp, drives really nice when cold, however when the car has done 40mins or so of driving i seem to get this kind of hunting from the car. i was wondering if the oil is overheating?

driving with cruise control on you can see the rev counter rise and fall constantly by 1-200 rpm.
when stuck in traffic and crawling along the engine 'coughs/judder' every 10sec or so, all this only happens when Hot,

i dont get any judder or hesitation when cold

the gearbox oil was changed in January by the previous owner,

should I try changing the oil again as it was not done by a Audi dealer ship, cost in January was £120
I have seen some discussions on the internet about the front wheel speed sensors-could these be at fault?
when in Manual mode the dash says 7 speed so i'm assuming i already have a 7 plate clutch? or is that s;ipping now?
is there anything else it could be?
where on here may i find more information on these issues as i have tried searching through the Q button

any help would be much appreciated
thank you in advance

Go for it. It might be my bad engine mounts.

Where you get anti roll bars from Andy. Look good!
Dpm performance not a bad delivery time either about a week if that... if you want to go stiffer on the rear then you will need adjustable drop links too awsome gti do them but not cheap

I ordered my Eibach ARB kit from DPM, friendly service and quick delivery. Still haven’t got around to fitting them yet. Sounds like I should though!
