Hi there,

The canvas hood on my wife's 2007 A4 Cabriolet is beginning to look really filthy (i.e. lots of green patches and in-ground dirt) and my usual washes are now struggling to clean it up.

Can anyone recommend any cleaning products that are good at bringing a pretty bad looking black canvas good back to life?

Cheers,

J:)

Start with a good vacuum to lift as much dirt and grit as possible and then the Autoglym kit is as good as any. Mask the paintwork when using the proofer as it is tricky to remove from paintwork once dry. :smile new:

Forgot to mention - a power washer lance is not recommended by hood manufacturers as it can damage the rubber membrane in the hood material.

I've had my cabby for over 7 years and tried a few different methods but eventually gave up on the patchy results and hit it with the pressure washer. Appreciate that this method is not recommended by Audi but it does work, it's amazing how much crud comes out, far more than a vac or sponge will shift, no leaks so far - thankfully!
After the deep clean I use the Autoglym kit as well, watch out for the 3 for 2 offers at Halfrauds.
