Hey all,
I’m looking to get a S3 2015 plate @ 25k, just asking is there any problem areas I should be looking for. From my research from other forums, the haldex may need servicing. But is there anything thing else that I should be wary of?

Thanks
Dan

Thermostat housing leaks as well, not sure if that's just a FL issue or not.

Make sure it has a good service history. If it’s s tronic then the gearbox oil needs changed at 38k. It should have had the brake fluid changed at 3 years.
Coolant issues is definitely pfl too-we had outs changed at about 18 months.

As above coolant leak and haldex check. About it really as far as common issues go

£25k is very strong money on a 2015 car. I'll be sticking my 2015 S3 Saloon (Manual) up for sale shortly. Mine's just had a brand new engine fitted by Audi, due to a rare injector fault which cause a piston to disintegrate. Sepang Blue. 33,000 miles

Due to the new engine I was going to stick it up for around £21K.

If you're interested in spec etc give me a PM.

The coolant system is by far the weakest point in MQB, besides water pump/thermostat (which essentially is one unit), varies piping could leaks too. And the newer metal thermostat isn't any better either. And then Haldex, DSG, turbo supposedly could fail but it's not really that common unless tuned to way out of spec? Another thing to look at is wheel bearings, not just Audi, but premature failure reports from all MQBs...

Watch out for signs of previous tinkering with remaps and tuning boxes that could have consequences on the longevity of various drive-train components .

If it is a saloon ......the rear suspension 2015-2016 had an issue with a clunk noise over potholes etc. that required a warranty TSB fix...check to see if that was done, as a 2015 is out of warranty

Also the turbo wastegate rattle 1500-3000 rpm under light load. Not a relatability issue but audible and annoying. There was a TSB/TPI for dealer to adjust it to make it less intrusive. I don’t know when they changed the design to engineer it out but I think the vast majority of PFLs have the noise.

With used S3 you need to be careful as those cars been driven hard and, hence susceptible to different wear and tear and faults. Mine had new gearbox fitted at 6k miles and a new muffler. However, if you buy it from someone who looked after the car then you should be fine.
