Hi there,

I have a 2008 facelift s3 8p, it come with the RNS-E mk2 fitted as standard. I want to be able to bluetooth stream music from my phone to this unit. After researching I can see the best method for this is to use Audi Music Interface and a Tune2Air bluetooth adapter. However, upon inspecting my glovebox, I can see that I only have the bog standard one with just an airbag switch inside it, no CD changer, no iPod interface and no AMI. I have been on eBay and can see multiple listings for the standalone Audi Music Interface unit required for my car, I'm just unsure how I would go about fitting it to my car/glovebox. Someone has told me I can cut a box into my exisiting glovebox for the AMI, but I don't know how difficult this would be. I'm worried I'll buy the standalone AMI, but then be left with a mammoth task to fit it/set it up. I'm wondering.. would i be better off waiting for a glovebox to become available with the AMI already fitted inside it, and then buy the entire glovebox/AMI combined. Thanks

Why not run a aux to 3.5 cable and drill a small hole in your glove box and do a playlist and put your phone in glove

If you want a proper retrofit then speak to Nigel @NHN

If you have aux input in the tiny storage space to the right of your handbrake level / below the 12v socket then you can use any bluetooth gadget that gives you phono output and plumb that into the factory aux in.

yeah my car does have the aux port next to the handbrake, but for some reason the RNS-E doesn't recognise the aux as a source, which I think is strange.

If you manage to source a glovebox I have AMI units for sale... :)

Also if you don't have the 32 pin plug you can find them on ebay for next to nothing. it's a really easy fix and only takes a few minutes to do. only tools needed are the rnse removal keys and a paper clip to remove the pins.
