As X3Man said, as long as spec and price are right that'll be a nice car. Reading the spec list it doesn't seem to have a lot of extras, but that was the same as my S5 and I don't regret it.

You really don't notice it! I moved from a S3 to S5. I've kept up with S3s from a standing start, the B9 S5/S4 really is a very fast car still at stock.

There is such a crossover in cars these days, that any difference from S3, S4, S5, etc will be negligible. They're all about the same. Then get the cars out on the road, and the only difference will be either driver skill, or driver stupidity.
The main difference will be the S3 will be the more chuckable car, purely because it's a smaller and lighter car.
The main consideration for most between a S3 & an S4, is how much room you need.

S5 even better mate , well designed car.
Tbh , i would like the size of s3 with the engine of b9 and the interior.
I think if i go for upgrade probably i go for s4.
S5 it looks bigger,slight heavier than s4.
Don't think there's a lot of weight difference between S4 and S5, however it's my understanding that the S5 comes with a lot more stock compared to the S4.

Yes I have bought the car I picked it up on Saturday it's a lovely looking car and the exhaust sound on start up is wow.
The s3 was a very nippy car and the exhaust sound was pretty good too the cabin was nice but having had the car for 2years and now being 66 years young I thought of a slightly bigger car so why not the s4 which for me is a different animal ,cabin gorgeous, acceleration and drive wow. As much as I liked the s3 I think the s4 is better for me and the missus.
Also I was sick of my grandsons 24 and 27 saying grandad can I have a lend of the s3 for the day
,lol. I was starting to feel like a boy racer.

They'll just ask to borrow the S4 now. More room in the back for taking their GF's out !
Through experience the GF will be clueless, if the colour of mine hadn't changed I don't think she'd have noticed. Still doesn't realise it's an "S" either

How is the handling of the s4 compare to s3? And how about the engine sound of the s4 inside the car? Is it more aggresive and loud. ?
Handling s4 is good but the lighter s3 you could chuck it about .
The whole engine sound is wow.
Totally pleased so far.
We are off to fareham in Hampshire on Friday visiting daughter total round trip 610 miles.
We go down to see the family about 5 times a year so see what the s4 is like to the s3.?
Hopefully we will see you, and pictures of your new steed, over in the A4 B9 forum?
