I was referring to the molding around the instrument cluster, definitely in need of an update. If you cast your mind back I owned a 2013 A3 saloon and nothing has changed since then...

I know you did mate this is my second A3 so altogether I've been looking at the same dashboard molding for 4 and half years and counting never get bored with its design or how the electric screen elegantly rises out the dashboard.....yes it's a familiar sight and it's got to change on the next A3 but it wont be beaten in my opinion
Have to say, the screen disappearing into dash is such a shame to lose. My A6 had it, Q5 not, and neither does anything anymore including my X3. So good that you have option to leave screen down, but I suppose with Audi going touch only, not an option
Touchscreen ONLY mmi interfaces are the fad atm and Far cheaper to manufacture

Unfortunately we are just stating opinions jassy, but if you like it then that's up to you. However it is behind in design these days, especially the very clunky and out of date mmi system. Yes the screen rising out of the dash is a nice touch but compared to the technology available in competitors vehicles it is woefully inadequate and unfortunately unless they raise the bar in copying the design across from the Q3 it will remain so, or even go backwards when it becomes touchscreen only. You will also find the next A3 being sold with less options available, as has been applied to other Audi vehicles, and clearly being stated as a policy by Audi, and only on the most expensive version, probably called a Vorsprung, will you find them...

Less of a model range is all down to less models to test for WLTP regs....cost cutting by Audi.....and in my opinion Audi's interior design and how they go about their Tech....has reached Stagnation stage....and yes we are being "Groomed" for all electric vehicles by the VAG group more so than their German counterparts

Possibly, as far as WLTP is concerned VAG were certainly caught with their pants down, unlike other manufactures. Volvo's, for example offer 18,19,20 & 21" wheels on some of their models and many other options. Sorry cuke2u, but I have driven a new Volvo (XC60) and its touchscreen and electronic nanny aids are rubbish. False full application of brakes (3 times) and a very laborious touchscreen. What options are you looking for that Audi do not provide as either a standard or an option?
I know you were in a XC60, but when you look at the stats and see that no deaths have occurred in the XC90 which must have the same kit as you experienced, then I know what I would take!! I know what you mean though, electronics helping us can have a mind of their own, but the statistics don’t lie... it might actually make the roads safer. Watched a load of those dash cam compilations on YouTube today, bet loads of those crashes could be avoided with the new laws coming in soon...

It is an amazing place to be. Yours is especially sweet with the red stitching and design pack etc
I didn't mention I was actually interested in one though, just making an example. However you will find the next A3 will have all of those 'features' as some of the autonomous systems become mandatory.
With the facelift A4 options such as electric memory seats and matrix headlamps, just to name two, have been dropped. Other Audi models have had more removed and placed only in to the very expensive Vorsprung versions...

TBH it's all about how affordable the PCP deals are. List price means very little these days to most. It's all about `How much a month mate?`. If the interest rates keep going up then second hand S3's should hold their value better, as they will then attract those who can't afford a new £40k+ S3.
And it also depends on when the next S3 will be released? Within a couple months of new platform launch, or 12-18 months later?
For max price then yeah sell now. However the price difference between current new 8V vs all new 2020 model, the difference will be a few £k! So it’s up to you, people that have commented like jassy will keep their car for a while as they either don’t like the new design and others dont want to invest in the price hike after committing to an already expensive car. Depends on your priorities. No matter what people say, the current A3/S3 will go down in price once the new one is introduced. Nothing will stop this. Some comment about the PCP price possibly being high on the new model so the current model will hold its price etc.... but it’s all rubbish. Even if it does then it will be for a month or two at best until Audi conter that to make it more accessible and entice buyers. It’s already widely known that second hand PCP deals are worse than new so that argument doesn’t stack up.
There’s always a newer shinier model just round the corner. Car are depreciating assets and nothing can stop that. Just enjoy what you have and worry about it when it comes.

Yes ofc I am in no delusion that it's anything else other than a depreciated asset. All I wanted an opinion on was the size of the hummer we are set to hit by.

the back end looks like a Mazda and a bit like the a class. Have to say I don’t like it.

It will not come with a honeycomb grill....I will wait for the Audi release date and photos to make a full comment, but the lower bonnet profile and grill are an improvement over the 8V
That was my immediate thought. Hoping it grows on me. A decent trim level may bring it up.
Surely they aren't being serious with the piece of tinsle around the haunches of the car and on the sills? More Astra than anything else...
