Hello all

Finally and being advertised since the begining of April, I've taken a deposit on my Maserati Gransport with full payment coming in the next couple of days.

I'll be looking to buy an S4 B8.5, got to be Misano red (wife says it goes with my personality!) and preferably a Black edition.

I'll do a proper hello once I get one.
Andy.

Welcome to ASN and good choice on the car . Would be interested to see how would an S4 look at Misano Red. Oh, and will also be interested to see how looks in flesh

Hopefully pick one up next weekend (maybe earlier), in Misano red and a Black Edition to boot.

I have to wait until I get payment in full for the Maserati (during this week) then I'll be going to get it.

I have to admit I haven't felt this excited about a new car for years (even the Maserati with it's atmo Ferrari engine), looking forward to quiet, comfortable and quick!

Great choice. Picked mine up a month ago. Black Avant black edition. Amazing cars.

Got it!
Collected today, almost exactly what I wanted.
It's been advertised on AT for many months, I actually went and looked at it back in March.

Got it for a very favourable price, and as a bonus I looked under the back and it's got the Sports diff too .
It's in desperate need of a proper detail/mop as there's small swirl marks all over the paintwork.

The only thing I think has to go is the Milltek "race" exhaust, either that or get some back boxes (car came with the original system).

So far with the 70 mile drive up the M5/A38 I'm really happy.
Good to be back in a Quattro!
S4 1st day

Only got one photo today, was hoping to get some decent ones but I blinked and the day was over.
Old and new.

Cheers Tashfeen.
I've always loved red Audi's ever since I saw it on a Mars red UR Quattro when they were new.
I've always owned performance cars, starting back in the days of Mk1 Escort Mexico's etc (wish I had that and a couple of other cars I've had in a lockup somewhere!), Coupe Quattro's (10 and 20 valve versions), 2.8 V6 80 Quattro, Sapphire Cosworth and latterly Octavia VRS's (Mk1 and 3) plus the Maserati Gransport.
I'm the wrong side of mid 50's now and I thought it was time I returned to the Quattro fold with something quiet, comfortable and quick, the S4 fits the bill perfectly.

And very easy to make quicker

I know and I must resist, I haven't managed to resist in 40 years of owning motor cars though.

I have however noticed that MRC and APR seem to be the "go to" people at the moment for mapping the S4!
Very different now though for getting more power from cars. £1500 for stage 2 and it’s up to 470+hp. Mental. I’ve stage 1 Revo on mine and it’s fairly livened up.

The little Suzuki Swift GTI that I have as my profile picture by the time I finished it was 176bhp - 130Lbft of Torque from a 1326cc engine, revved to just over 9000 rpm (peak power at 8300rpm) and only weighed 703Kg with a half tank of fuel.
5 speed Straight cut Dogbox with a slippy diff
Big 290mm brakes (for a little Swift) and 4 pot calipers.
GAZ Gold coilover suspension all round.
It was like a Go Kart with a roof on!

So for me an S4 is growing up.
A little!

Welcome to the world of Misano. I may be looking at a B8 in the next few months. Would you care to share how much off the advertised price you got your little beauty for?!

My old Supra was just over 600hp. It’s the thinking mans estate I have now. B8.5 Avant. Kids fairly change things. For the better though :smile new:

I'm not going to say exactly, but it was sub £20k and by quite a bit.

21000 miles, full history etc, still has the smell of a new car.
While it was on the ramp having the exhaust changed I had a look around underneath, it's so clean it looks like it only left the factory a year ago, even the brake back plates are still properly silver.

Good to hear and I'm sure you'll have fun for it. Lots of good information in the B8 section including some of the folks who've had them for years. I've read most of them over the years.

Thanks for the reply which is a helpful insight. I've been keeping a bit of an eye on a blue one which with over 45,000 is more than £20k so thats helpful. Thing is, at the moment, I'm only doing 6,000 miles or so a year and other things are a little higher priority on the spending front! Doesn't stop the Auto Trader window shopping. Btw, I wasn't asking how much you paid; I would never do that. More how much your 'hard negotiations' knocked them down. Last car I got was my current one, in 2009, which was a company car I later bought. So I am well out of thinking when doing the Auto Trader surfing. But I would tend to start cheekily low! For whatever reason, some of these cars, like yours, seem to hang around at the dealers for a long time so it can help us when we buy.

I think everyones not spending atm because the Brexit blah blah, it took 5 months to sell the Maserati.

I did go in cheekily low but they said take a walk, but did haggle mainly based around it needs a recall to Audi for the fuel rails to be replaced.

Enjoying it more now the exhaust back to standard!
