Questions about RS grille

After many month of deciding if to get one I finally got an RS style grille. I've noticed that the bottom part of the frame where the quattro letters are, the frame is much thicker than the current one. That made me think if it will fit the bumper. If the frame is to sit flush with the bumper then the honeycomb mesh will be pushed inwards towards the engine. I hope there is enough room to accommodate this. Can someone who had rs grille fitted confirm that their grille is the same.
Now I'm looking for some place to have it fitted. Can someone recommend a place in north London that can do this.

Can’t recommend a place, but I’ve fitted an RS grille and it did fit even with the wider bottom for the Quattro lettering. Looks like it might not, but it does. Or mine did anyway, and I haven’t heard of one not fitting so you should be good.

Will regular Halfords spray paint work on the crash bar behind the bumper?

Don't see why not, I'd just be careful spraying paint around your car. I chose the vinyl option because I know a wrapper and got an offcut, and because it meant there was no chance of overspray ending up on my paint. If you get a small strip of decent vinyl it'll have air channels in it that make it very easy to apply, even if you're ham-fisted like me.
 
Heres mine, with a view of the lip. Hope it helps. I didnt want the quattro logo on mine.

I took the quattro letters off but there are very faint lines visible on the frame which are used for correct positioning of the letters.
Do you guys use a number plate holder or attach it directly to the grille? The holder that came with the grille is of wrong dimensions so will attach the number plate directly.

The number-plate holder that came with mine was a perfect fit. Maybe I was lucky? You could probably do some sort of cable tie thing
 
Mine fit perfectly too. You can buy twist on ones that can be easily removed and a friend has used them with no issues. I’ll see if I can find the link.

The plate holder was attached to the grille with two screws so will use the same fixing points to screw the number plate directly to it.
 
Got the grille fitted today. Here are some first photos. I went with the silver frame grille as I wanted the it to stand out a bit more.

I picked these up online. Aliexpress actually. Very happy with the quality of them, they look and fit great. Came with a dummy insert because I dont have the sensors. Different colours too, I just wanted all black.

I've seen them on aliexpress, they are also available without the sensors with the honeycomb pattern instead. They are copies of the original S4 version. I was thinking of some new designs.
 
with these rs4 grilles. anyone know if theres any fitting difference between S4 and S-Line? Ive seen a few on ebay that state S-Line only.
Im looking for one for my S4 (want gloss black with the quattro lettering).

I still have my black optics OEM grill here as I sold my car with the RS one on if anyone reading this fancies it for their S Line or something.

Hi @Daggerit. Would this be an all gloss black grill or is it matt black with the gloss strips?
