Basically, the halogen headlights on my Council Spec S Line are pretty poor - the wife's Kia Sportage lights are better in every way- even the Kia's DRL's are better than my dip beam!
OK, I know it's possible to buy and fit OEM HID/Xenon lighting with a Kufatec adaptor kit to a halogen equipped car, but do people fit the washers and the levelling kit?
Or has anyone retrofitted an HID/Xenon kit without washers and levelling (according to the Law, a bit naughty) and passed MOT with it fitted?
I fitted a kit to my old Carlton with no bother - the headlight units were reflective (as opposed to projector as per B7 units) and the MOT tester was happy with the beam pattern on dip. they don't (or didn't) test high beam which was a good job because on the Carlton, the HID high beam was all over the place. Saying that, the Carlton did not have a Canbus system, so another issue perhaps?
