What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

What do you think the total cost of getting that bumper on was please? Approx

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Bumper was £340, grill £130 and then the garage did a spray job for £280 - but they haven’t blended in the paintwork so it looks poor ( I was quoted £1500 for the bumper bonnet wings to be painted and blended into the doors, but I just couldn’t afford it)

So £750 all in I think.

So finally got the bumper fitted sprayed (not happy with the spray job) and a new front grill sorted.

I'm seriously considering this bumper when I fit my new front wings and the car goes for fresh paint - how well does the bumper fit, by that I mean where did you have to fettle it (if at all) to get it right?
Also, did your grill come with your bumper?

Hey bud, the fit is ok - I’d give it a 8/10, you’ll have to fettle it a little to get it sitting right - but you have to do that with the standard bumper when you refit anyway. The curve where the bumper meets the arch has a little too much gap for my liking but it’s probably less than 2mm. It came with parking sensor holes (which I had filled before paint)

With regard to the grills, it came with a completely blank grill with a number plate - which I thought was a bit too chavvy... so I ordered a standard size aftermarket grill on eBay which is gloss back and has the rings emblem, so it gives it a more OEM feel. It’s changed the whole look of the car.

Just to note the lower grills are not removable which didn’t bother me but they’ll need to be masked when the painting happens.

Now that looks fat and I like it..... five minutes research and it don't look like it comes with fog grilles.....

It uses the oem rs4 grille ,foglamp covers and other oem parts such as headlamp wash and PDC.
I have the oem rs4 grille fitted on my s-line, a set of new oem rs4 foglamp covers just stuck in a box doing zippo and the other bits are also part of my s-line bumper, so It was the obvious route really.

hi Guys
i'm new here, ive been reading the whole 144 pages of great content of all the mods you've all been doing, ive bought myself a 55 plate blue avant in mint exterior condition, low mileage 2.5tdi 163 auto cvt multitronic(reading snippets on the internet i have bought the car with the worst engine/gearbox combination but still i love it). jobs to do are

aircon doesnt work, has had a belt/pulley and recharge in march-so im guessing the sensor is faulty underneath the headlight.

auto gearbox is slow on pullaway from cold-fine at all other times, gearbox was changed February by previous owner(receipt to prove)

just lovin all the updates you all do, although mines still standard, I did want to 'chip it' for better economy and power but reading up it seems my gearbox cant take it:frown new:

Well I must first say welcome , and congrats on your choice.

As you may have realised you'll find all the help and info you will ever need on this forum, and we are a nice bunch of like mind owners with empty wallets but lovely cars, the two do go together i'm afraid as audi's and expense are just one of lifes mysteries.
But hey , well worth it most of the time.

CVT is not the best transmission option but one can live with it.
there are lots of mods that can be done and not all will cost silly money.
A word of caution though, don't become a slave to the car and spend all the time fixing it, just do the bits you really want to do and enjoy it.

have a good one

Willkommen im Audi A4 B7!!

My A/C suddenly stopped working and it was indeed the high pressure switch. Yeah, you do have to remove the bumper to replace it, but it still only takes an hour tops all in.
You can get the switches easily enough - around £20 from an ebay seller - and hopefully, you'll get the 'Pssssst' sound as the valve is exposed (don't worry, the valve will re-seal until the new switch is fitted), as you remove the old switch - this indicates that your A/C system is still charged, so you'll know it'll be working once the new switch is fitted.
Very satisfying to be able to turn that damn Econ light out!!!

Today I have succumbed to technology and purchased an Alpine cdless head unit, not entirely sure its the best plan but worth a go since my pioneer is just doing my head in now.
I can see a few long evenings transferring all my fav cd's to more suitable media.:bye:

Anyway, they say one should embrace new technology, so I am.....:yahoo:needless to say the pioneer is going asap, shame really as it's my preferred HU brand but not this particular one.

more goodies going on the old tomorrow too.

If you haven’t discovered Spotify yet rob then I would suggest you check it out. You might never look at CDs again especially once you start creating your own playlists.

What unit did you go with? I was looking at the halo 9. Would probably have bought it if it had a higher res screen
