Quick query really, I’ve got a screw stuck in my front tyre and to me it looks like a replacement rather than a repair due to the location.

I’m aware Dunlop do a SportMaxx RT and SportMaxx RT2. What’s the difference and how do you tell? Ideally want to keep the tyre the same as what’s on the other 3 wheels!

I’m also not sure what the differences are as black circles lists the parameters as basically identical!

See a picture, how deeply unfortunate - only noticed while driving due to a ticking noise when the window was down.

Surely an RT2 would have a number 2 after the RT part.

I would’ve thought so?! I’ve got no idea what the difference is, so thought I better check.

It seems they’re identical prices and to me look like identical tyres. I couldn’t find a picture of RT2 to verify it has an actual “2”

I had both RT and RT2. I liked the RT2 much more because they were more quiet.
Are you sure the tire is not repairable? Take it to a tyre repair shop and ask them first.

Yes, the RT2 has the actual "2" on the tyre.

I’ve noticed the thumbnail image also shows a different tread pattern. Interesting, though I imagine one tyre out of 3 is hardly going to impact that much. They’re both identical in price from what I can see (supposedly same road noise rating, wet rating etc).

I’ll double check. Though it looks far to close to the sidewalk for repair in my opinion. I got a tyre replaced on my partners Skoda Karoq with it in the same place although it was deeper they wouldn’t even offer a repair it was a “we can’t replace that, 100% new tyre”
