yourAudi - Track New Car Order

Ordered a Q5 2.0 TFSI s line on 15 February said delivery wouldn’t be til 26/29 June unfortunately

I ordered mine on the same day, seems you had the build week just before mine, but still expecting it late June? I wonder if mine will take that long with it already being on it's travels.

Have you tried Audi customer service (Facebook or Twitter)? As they usually respond same day with update on vehicle orders, or try your salesman, mine has kept me up to date when anything changes on the status (20, 30 etc..).

I just got told the A3 Black Edition Saloon (C+S Pack etc) I ordered back in the 2nd week of Jan has a build week 44 (October!?) Please tell me something is not right there? I was told by the dealership that I should have had the Audi by End of March!?

Think I'm going to change the order to the A5 Coupe S-Line, I think waiting till October for the build week in itself is ridiculous.

Hi all, this is my first time buying an Audi and I' a little confused as to what's happening with my factory build. I've been given 2delivery dates that have lapsed and supposedly my car was shipped yesterday and the customer service said it'll be a week but from reading this it sounds like I could be waiting for up to 2 weeks or the cars might not have been shipped at all. Does anyone know how I can track the movements myself as my sales exec seems to have gone dark on me. Cheers!

Get on Twitter mate, Audi Uk customer care are pretty rapid with their replies in normal working hours. Hopefully they can give you some accurate updates

I'm not 100% but maybe they put a date in, until they are assigned a slot for your vehicle, but with your order date being soo long ago I'm surprised they've assigned a date soo far in the future. FYI I ordered my A5 Couple S-Line in mid-February & it's currently on it's way to the U.K. as per update last week from my salesman. Overall I'll have waited approx. 3 months from order date, (should be here in the next 3-4 weeks). So using my A5 as an example if you order this month you'd possibly have your A5 by July.

Thats crazy right!? I know for a fact something doesn't seem right but Slough Sytner don't seem to have a clue to be honest. All I got sent was a screenshot saying build week 44 has been assigned. We gave them till Mid/End May to get us the car so I will go back in the next few weeks and kick off. Audi UK turned around and said to me this morning a build week hasn't been allocated and there are no updates! Literally had enough lol, I think I'm just going to cancel the order and go with the A5.

What spec did you go for with the A5? I want C+S definitely but was debating the tech pack

I'd definitely kick up a fuss if they aren't communicating with you, service like that would put me off and I'd go elsewhere. The A3 Saloon black edition is an excellent choice, so I can see why you're giving them time (specially if you got a good deal?). I went for the A5 as the deposit contribution is currently £5000 and I got a bit more off the price too.

My configuration;

Audi A5 S-line S Tronic 35 TFSI
Tech Pack
19" x 8.5J 'multi-spoke' design alloy wheels
Matrix LED headlights with LED rear lights and dynamic front and rear indicators
Privacy glass (side and rear windows)
Flat-bottomed 3-spoke leather high multi-function steering wheel
Rear-view camera

I'm not 100% but I'm sure some franchises are offering a free black edition upgrade on A5's, can't remember if I saw that in this tax quarter or the last. Might be worth a look :)

Your Spec is great! I would have opted for comfort and sound though because that comes with the camera, and the sound system standard in the A5 isn't great, I had the sportback over xmas because my Audi was in repair for the 5th time that year (dont ask lol). Tints you should have done externally for half the price! I looked at the Black Edition but the wait time at the moment is a year!

Im looking at the same A5 but the Coupe S Tronic. I emailed Mercedes today and I might just go over there if they can match what Audi are doing to get me out of the current contract because we aren't paying any negative equity because of how poor the car has been ontop of the service so let's see what they say.

Just had the same response as others. I had a phone call today to say that Audi hadn't allocated the car a transport yet and so would be possibly another week or two, I then got a phone call about 2 hours later saying that the car will be delivered tomorrow! Just seems like no one really knows whats going on with the deliveries at all.

3rd new Audi, different dealer this time but process and lack of info and updates is standard. Order, forget, and wait for the call. Very difficult I know if your worrying about a px but it’s all out of your hands until your new car actually materialises at your dealer and they then start treating you like a customer. On line tracker hasn’t worked for me at all so I gave up. Last news I had via Twitter was she goes into build on Monday. I was trying to avoid the price increase but once I realised that wasn’t going to happen I totally stopped worrying. I’m over 40 now and can do that . Audi and others are in business to take our money, repeatedly if they get the balance right. Obviously with their success they do that more often than not. But the not’s can be shockingly poor and I genuinely feel for those that get the stinky end of the stick. Be assured if every sale was like that, you wouldn’t see Audi on the road

You mention of a price increase. Who's affected by this? I've signed documentation back in February for the total price / discounts etc.. can they now change the price after signing said document? (cannot remember the document name)

You would need to both check the small print and / or ask the dealer. Mine made it clear back in mid March any price increase would likely be applied but I ordered later than you, plus I’ve not signed an agreement directly with the dealer, only verbal based on a quotation and a confirmation through Drive the Deal. The dealer won’t take my deposit until the car hits our shores and is available which suggest we’re at different stages. Hopefully, yours is a fixed deal and not subject to the increase, details of which are a few post back. My order is through a fleet arm of an Audi dealer and they clearly work in a slightly different way for that market. First time I’ve done it this way. 2 Previous 8v orders were both placed Oct, delivered March so no increase. Fingers crossed for you and I recon your ok

Interesting, I wonder if they have halted in preparation for a facelift model (which was spotted earlier this year), just a thought. I know you've picked your spec etc.. for your A3, but you could always go for a pre-registered / ex-demo car? not sure how you feel about that though.

Yeh I saw the facelift shots back in Feb, but I wasn't expecting that till next year because there's been a 12 month factory order wait (since Jan) on the A5 Black Editions. Literally got no idea what Audi are playing at right now it seems to be all over the place! I haven't even been asked by Audi if I want a pre reg car or a showroom build or anything, they haven't given that to me as an option. Just find it hard to believe that its hard to source an A3 BE Saloon with C+S - like its the most popular option!

What is the best way to track a new car order?

Hi Dave, I’ve found audi’s Tracker to be about as useful as hemroids! 404 error on page and road block blah blah blah. AudiUK customer care on Twitter however have been great. Drop em a direct message with your order number and they’ll update you, and normally pretty rapidly. I’ve gotta say I’ve only messaged twice for confirmation of the build week but both times I got a polite, helpful and immediate reply. Will do so again tomorrow because I’m meant to be in build this week and that was still the case on Monday. They told me to give em a tweet at the end of the week to check how the status had updated as it progressed. Facebook just as good too based on other experiences I’ve read on here. Enjoy the anticipation, even though you have that long history of new cars it’ll alway be something to look Forward too I hope and the new Q3 looks a great choice

How’s my order doing...

Just a little update on my A5; after being informed it would be at the showroom on Monday 6th, mine actually arrived on Thursday 2nd May. I’ve been sent through the documents and no price increase luckily. I’ve had to hold off picking it up as it was ready to pick up Friday 3rd May but I’m going on holiday tomorrow so held off until I’m back. Can’t tell what I’m more excited for my dream holiday or picking the car up! Ha

Sold my outgoing car yesterday after just a week in autotrader and for a really fair price....a whole £2k more than WBAC and Evans Halshaw offered, both equaled the AT recommended sale! All of them suggested a guide price based on base spec and I knew it was worth much more. Gap between their equal offers and those cars close to it listed was massive (Fat trader & dealer margin) Auto trader cost me £80 for add until sold. Don’t let them car traders put you off and take your money, I’m sure not all private sales are straight forward but keep your wits about you and it’s not to be as feared as dealers would have you believe and you don’t have to accept shocking trade in . S3 no2 incoming....

Preparation for the arrival of the new car begins :)
Away next week (beer, Sun and...I think it’s food next isn’t it?) but with luck it’ll be waiting for me on my return and I can resume the joys & challenges of Audi ownership again after 17 months away in a fine but plastic & soulless Ford Tank of an SUV. Can’t wait to slide my behind into a full leather SS Seat, crank up th B&O then make very positive forward progress with 300ps, a slick gear box and a mature sound with a hint of its capabilities if ever there is a need to bury the accelerator and push through the air a little quicker. I’m smiling already

I cancelled my order on the A3 taking business elsewhere now, got messed around so badly with Audi just can't be bothered to deal with them!

We’ll, no pics yet cos I just haven’t stopped long enough to grab any. It’s as good a car as my 2016 S3, and then maybe just a little better. Only difference I notice on the inside is the addition of VC (very slick and I love the central dial) and it may we’ll be my imagination but the side bolsters on the SSS base could be just a little lower towards the back or firmer. I’d have to see both side by side but I don’t seem to be creasing my right hand side one yet? I’m sure it will come in time. Don’t miss the 3 on any of the trim, or the air vent change, door seals lighting up is a nice touch and it feels every bit as premium. The drive, effortless progress would sum it up and I love it. No drama at all from the exhaust, nice understated rumble but I’ve not noticed any DSG upshift / downshift fart at all. To be fair the speed restriction device has been in the passenger seat for almost every warmed up mile so far, progress has been steady with the odd squirt resulting in a dirty look. Less noise just makes it more of a surprise when it rockets up to the speed limit with no effort at all. I would never describe this car as a hot hatch, that’s Fiesta ST territory and it totally deserves its crown. How would I describe it.....if it were a night out, the ST and it’s like are pub followed by crazy club and a 2am kebab, the S3 is a nice dinner with the Mrs followed by a few perfectly weighted beers, chilled walk to settle the dinner then a shag to see the night out, and morning of another glorious day in. There would’ve been a time when the former was my goal but I’m very much a man of the latter now and I’m very happy with both my car, and the Mrs ;)

Long time lurker. First time poster. I order my Tango red (different I know) black edition S3 back in July, was quoted delivery for October and build week 37 shortly after ordering. The Audi tracking website seemingly started working again recently and now is showing my car is in quality control. The only query I have is that my car is seemingly getting built in Brussels and looking at previous cars they’ve all been Ingolstadt, which I found unusual. Has anyone else had Brussels? Can’t wait for my new car and the end is nearly in sight

It's possible that Ingolstadt will be getting retooled for the next A3 model. My S3 order is saying Brussels as well, my current S3 was built in Ingolstadt

That’s a good point. My S3 left the factory on Wednesday. Hopefully won’t be too much longer now.

Does Audi Brussels still deliver via the port in Emden? Or is the tracker seriously delayed? Mine tracker updated this morning to status 39, although 38 was never shown. It’s supposed to be going to port of Tyne but there’s no scheduled boats there for next few days but there was a boat that came on Saturday.

I have an RS3 on order and it’s strangely showing Brussels as well. I think it might be an error with the tracker as only the e-tron on is being made at the Brussels factory from what I’ve found. My build status jumped from 30 (for 10 days) to 40 last night and says it’s in the UK now. Hopefully that bit is accurate at least! No boat data whatsoever and skipped right over that bit. Mine would have come up the Tyne as well. Maybe it came by truck through the channel tunnel? Never know with Brexit preparations if there’s been sone changes?

Well I’ve had the magical phone call from the dealer and my car is due to arrive tomorrow afternoon and I’m getting to pick my S3 up on Monday which is a bank holiday for me. There’s something strange with the tracker. I’ve found mine is 3 days behind as confirmed by Audi my car was on the City of Rotterdam vessel which landed at the port of Tyne on Sunday. Although the tracker never updated till Wednesday. The tracker never made status 38 and just jumped from 30 to 39. Cant complain I’ll have my car just under 2 weeks after being built the salesman nearly apologised it came so early, about 6 weeks earlier than he expected.

I’m sure it will. I had the admin team confirmed it was arriving tomorrow so they must of been in touch with the transport company. I even got to pick my own registration plate although the options they gave me weren’t terribly exciting.

I too have ordered a Tango Red S3. Ordered beginning of august. I was told build week is week commencing 23rd September. I have chased my sales person at Audi and she has no further update. Ive no idea if its even been built! Ive also been told there is no tracking system anymore? Is this true?

I’d certainly be chasing up your sales person as I’ve had my car nearly a month now. The tracking website was certainly working whilst I was waiting my new car but looking at past posts it seems to be hit or miss. Have you got an 8 digit order number?

Well ive chased and she doesnt have an update. i was told it would be 3/4 weeks after build week so technically that would be next week. Ye i have an order number. might log into my account and see if i can add it to a new order and see if it will track it. Also been told i cant chose my registration plate number. Which i did on my current a3 black edition 2 years ago...

How you finding the car? I chose the Tango Red as you dont see many red s3's on the road, and the red is rather nice!

Hello, question regarding audi tracker and accuracy. I'm currently waiting on my S3 and tracking it via the audi tracker in this thread it tells me it has arrived at the dealer (as of 15th October) however the dealer is saying it hasn't.. She has advised she will be in contact when it does. Still nothing some two weeks later.. Now if I go via the back door to the website and decode it via JSONlint I have status 70 along with a dealer delivery code, so everything from that perspective is telling me it has arrived but the dealer says otherwise. Is the dealer fobbing me off?
