Brake pads and discs

The intention is to give the garage a call tomorrow but in the meantime if anyone could give me an idea ££££ wise what should I expect for front pads and discs on 2006 Audi a3 sportback ?

I know it's an obvious question to most but just want to get an idea what I should be paying. TIA

If you’re asking the price for supply & fit I couldn’t tell you , although I would say that front discs and pads are a very easy & quick job to do .
Regarding prices , you can spend on quality OEM parts or just fit cheap items that will fit but may not necessarily be very good in the long term.
A few months ago I fitted new front pads and discs for my car (both ATE brand) and the discs were £45 the pair and pads £40, so that’s £85.
I could have spent as little as £57 at ECP had I gone for Eicher pads & discs but as it isn’t an OE brand I wouldn’t touch them ,lol.
 
We have had no problem with Brembo discs and pads. We fitted Pagid to a TTS and had bad juddering when hot. Also got Pagid pads on another TT and they cause a squeak when dry as you are driving along. They will be changed for Brembo next week.
In other words, in my experience. I would avoid Pagid products from ECP!

Similar experience with Pagid , went with Brembo discs .

ECP own Pagid ? Or at least the OE end .

Yes this is what I had heard about Pagid - after fitting the parts!

TMD Friction own Pagid brand not ECP, they actually own a lot of OE brands and I’ve never had a problem with Pagid pads or discs.

Took out some unknown pads the other day as car new to me loads of meat just wanted to brake change to new discs and less dusty pads.

Was washing the front wheels 3 times a week despite low miles .

Odd the wheel paint has suffered like that, maybe too much abrasive cleaning. Never had that happen on wheels on our family cars, different brands as well and only cleaned once a month.
Textar pads are TMD owned as well but I’ve never used them, I’ll give them a go on the next pad change that comes up.
 
I’ve used Textar pads several times and can thoroughly recommend them, in fact the current rear pads on my car are Textar.
Textar pads were factory fitment on my mums old C180K so they were OEM for Mercedes.
I used to swear by Pagid products until I had a set of Pagid pads on my Beetle that squealed like a pig ( they were on brand new discs and silence resumed once I’d fitted ATE pads) and bought a set of Pagid front discs for my A3 with what appeared to be radial casting cracks within the cooling fins.
Haven’t touched anything Pagid since!

Wheel powder coat is fine , it's just the pure filth these **** pads put out .

Low mileage and light braking , now with my usual ceramic choice of pad and I'm no longer slave to the wheels .
 
BMW OE pads used to be Textar and I've put them on my wife's Mini - they work fine but seem to give off more black dust than most others I have experienced
