Facelift Parking sensors

because I have a MIB2 retrofitted? :)
Hello. Sorry for hijacking a old Post...was looking to purchase this kit for front and rear parking sensors on a 2016 Audi a3 https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32867...d=4462amp-zS-TuxXvYEDK3aAY5N0f4A1568234899585

I have a couple of questions which I was hoping you knowledgeable chaps can help with....firstly are these sensors factory looking....can't quite tell....also can I just do the rears first with this kit...get just audible beep...without ops...then move onto front installation later...as to do it in a staged install....any input would be appreciated....

Thanks

The sensors will look like factory but you cant just fit part of system, it will only give you errors. You will also need the a3 parameters installed on the module as its new.

Greetings Khufu...thanks for the reply...I have read about parameterization when you buy all the parts seperatley...i.e the module being a new one from VAG. DJAlix on a post mentioned usually kits are good to go or second hand pre installed modules..are you referring to once installed...coding is required using VCDS...is that what you mean by a3 parameters installed...?
Thanks again

To be fair Khufu...I mess with cars now and again...and use VCDS last time when. I needed to do DPF Regen...and resolve limp mode...does the kit I posted come with all looms to complete the install...so that I don't need anything additional from kufatec..I pick the car up Saturday.. facelift a3 with only blind spot wingm ..no parking sensors....and my wife wants them quick. Can't drive without them...what did we all do back in the day ....

I have priced a install at around 825 which I find a little too much..at this moment in time ..hazzydays etc....not sure if there are anyone in the Yorkshire area...or tackle it myself...time permitting...would a local installer rattle this off no problem just same as these mentioned installers hazzydays and Poole retrofits....

Sorry for all the questions...

the new modules that Aliexpress supply need to be told extra information as they work for various different VAG models. Its like instructions for use that can then be programmed using VCDS. DJAlix can do this sort of programming but it cant be done using VCDS. If you were to buy a 2nd had module for an A3 then the parameters will already be installed and you could just make any changes needed using VCDS.

Theses things can cost a lot if your not able to do the work yourself. Cutting holes can be a bit daunting lol

Thanks Khufu for the information....
I am at a sticking point in my way forward...my missus don't mind for all the OPS or front sensors like I have on my A4...just wants audible noise..so I don't really want to do the full install with fronts and rear just yet ..I just want to start on the rear only as this would be a good start with potential to swap out a 4ch controller to 8ch when front are then done maybe be next summer...to get full OPS...a body shop has told me they use these cheaper sets for the rear that tap into the reverse light...but I don't want that really...I would prefer a factory install for future upgrades and potential coding....my thinking would be to get something like the attached...and get a module second hand too...what would you recommend it's a 2016 a3 fl version....if just doing rear. Is there any routing of wires from rear to front CAN Module people talk about being above the brake pedals....also would it be best to buy new...so I give the VIN number of the car to get the correct part numbers for the 4ch module/harness/sensor type....I attach a link of one that looks like it would be a good start...then just get the module that fits behind the rear light cluster...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A3-...-Rear-8V0971104B-5Q0919275B-LX5J/173417309111

Thanks again...

Anyone's else input would also be appreciated...

@DJAlix Well after the good news from post 15 of this thread I finally got round to fitting my 8 channel OPS to my 2017 MY Facelift A3 Sportsback Sport taking great care with every detail using genuine VAG parts throughout.

I plugged in my Hex V2 using 18.2.1 and was most miffed when the module 10 parking controller 5QA 919 294A would not accept any coding just responding with an Error 31 Request out of range - coding rejected.

I had already been to the Gateway installation list and successfully registered Module 10 on the network. I also ensured the fields for WSC, Importer and equipment were complete using both the Ross-Tech default and the numbers that are in all the other modules on the car but both gave the Error 31.

Doing a full auto scan revealed 3 fault codes:-
1113875 - parking aid indicator lamp open circuit.
The dash switch is not connected yet so I connected a temporary LED/resistor which enabled me to clear this fault and make it come back at will. Shows the module is at least partly working.

13636352 - Control module not coded. Yep that's what I'm working on.

10487040 - Invalid Data Record B2005 00 [009] Mmm this one sounds sinister. From what I've found on the net it sounds like parameter data is missing because it has not been configured via SVM or some other system. The Park module was bought from my Audi dealer via the parts dpt.

Am I on the right track and is there a simple fix for this. If not and it requires your special magic please let me know and I will contact you on your business e-mail.

Regards

hi i want to ask about the dash switch
I had put 2 wires
T20/3 to T26/3
T20/13 to T26/14
But i still get the faulty parking aid button lamp
Could you maybe remember which diagram you used to install from dash switch to the pdc module

Parking aid button is supposed to be connected through T20/4 and T20/14. Hope this helps:

The only thing is not working the front sensor pop up on mmi
