Hi all,

Just bought a Misano red 2016 S7 at the weekend and absolutely love it, such a great car. As always though there's a few things I'd like to do eventually:

1) switch wheels, I have 20" blades but all in silver, much prefer the RS style diamond cut black/silver. Should I get mine cut or sell these and buy a set?

2) Rear Parking camera retrofit, I've saw a few place that do genuine so should be easy enough.

3) Keyless entry, wife wants this and I'd quite like it as well, does anyone have any experience of this or recommend how to go about it? Looks a big job.

4) Exhaust - would like it to be louder but also have the option of being quiet as well, can anyone advise on the best exhaust upgrades to make to achieve this?

Think that's it for now!

Welcome to the 7 club

1. So they put 20" rotors on an S7 but 21" rotors on a black edition... strange but fair enough! Only annoying thing I will say with the rotors is corrosion. All 4 of mine have it and I'm now deciding whether to get them fully refurbed but not diamond cut

2. I've enquired about this and got quotes of around £500 from memory. Few on the forums have done it without too much hassle

3. Personally, I'm glad I dont with all the thefts going on with scanner waving etc.

4. I'm in a 3.0 tdi...no idea on exhausts :- )

Cheers Akash!

It's the blades not the rotors I have, although I do like the rotors as well!

I've saw around £600 fitted for the camera, seems to be about standard

Yip, get your point about the keyless side of it, I have thought about that as well and really I think it'll probably be too expensive a mod to do.

Welcome to the S7 club Kev!

Be warned, there’s not many people personalising the A7/S7 platform, but it can be great fun if your up for a challenge!

I’ve stayed with 20” on mine as reports are that the ride can be a little rough on the 21’s. I have swapped mine out though for some other OEM 20’s and had them powder coated matt black, to match my wrapped matt black chrome trim.

Post some pictures up of what your S7 :racer:

I have heavily OEM+ TWEAKED my A7 TDi.

Currently has.

1. RS7 front grill with gloss black side vents and blacked out lower lip.
2.carbon look front bumper splitter
3.Rs7 rear diffuser with RS7 ovals and back box pipes cut and sitting just as per RS7 inside the ovals, pipes painted matt black ovals chrome.
4.lowered on Eibach Pro Kit
5.fully functioning retro fitted BiTdi active exhaust with OEM control via MMI, and running a Kufatec sound module with remote. Sounds AMAZING. Can be fully turned off if quite running required.
6.carbon rear spoiler on top of the standard spoiler.
7. Gloss red brake calipers, silver centre hubs, gloss black brake shields
8.Genuine RS6 C7 option packed 20" x 9.5J very deep concave twin spoke alloys, super low standard E.T of 21,with custom painted red and chrome centre caps. Sits flush to the arches with 5mm spacers on the rear.
9.also have run it on RS5 20" deep concave polished rotors.
10.De-badged with custom A7 gloss black badge left.
11.A7 face-lift black edition ( front facing) gear knob fitted.
12.alloy ( paint black/gun metal) paddle extensions fitted.
13.Xenon reversing bulbs ( with zero errors) fabbed up and fitted.. Absolutely night and day difference in light output.
14.remap
15.lots of coding activated Via Carista dongle
16.VMI activated.

To do list..
RS7 seats. Would love the S-Line Super sport option seats, but are rediculously RARE to get hold of, as I don't want the RS7 logo on the seats
possibly RS7 front bumper ( but don't want to create An RS7 rep) so undecided..
Black edition interior alloy trim pieces.
Reversing camera.
S Tronic alloy Gear knob possibly.
Full paint correction ( will be done over winter)
Possible gearbox remap.

I love my A7 had it two years now.. Considered an S7 but didn't want the fuel costs.. The S7 sound fantastic with an upgrade exhaust.. Get it done.

Thanks guys, @holmefield would like to see some pics!

I'll get some pics up when I get the chance, raining a bit much at the moment. I'm definitely going to stick with 20's on mine, just need something darker as imo red cars need dark wheels! Undecided about the de-chroming as well.

Don't suppose anyone can recommend an auto-electrician in Glasgow area that might be interested in fitting the kufatec keyless entry? Also, are Kufatec products good?

Holmefield, bit of aa long answer I suppose but what was entailed in the bitdi exhaust fitment if you don't mind spilling the beans. The actual exhaust is an obvious part but would love to know whats needed in depth as would kill for the active exhaust. Cheers

Hi bud... Deep breath...it ain't Cheap but its pretty rare in none BiTdi A7s.. Like very rare.

1. A BiTdi active exhaust back box X2
2. Kufatec wiring harness that goes from the back boxes "into" the boot side pocket.
3. Audi OEM BiTdi active exhaust sound module ( perchased from TPS)
4. Audi OEM wiring harness from BiTdi sound module to Standard Audi wiring loom ( purchased from TPS)
5. Somebody to code in the sound module and connect the wiring looms to OEM MMI unit so all controls as Per BiTdi setup ( I used hazzydayz)
6. Kufatec active exhaust sound module and wiring loom and ( in my case 6 sound settings) remote with ( cold start option) activated.

Total price....... Everything bought fitted coded working including 2nd hand BiTdi back boxes north of £1000 but i bought everything over 4 months and sourced offers deals and discounts, BUT and its a big BUT, hands down its the best mod I have done.

The RS7 rear diffuser and factory RS7 Ovals runs it a close 2nd.

If you change your mind and want to go 21, I have a set of OE RS7 9Jx21 et35 gloss black diamond cut alloys for sale.

I run DRC and 21’s on my 2015 RS7

with PS4S’s and the ride is just fine

I've been considering a suspension upgrade. Is it the Bilstein B12 pro kit with Eibach springs? How do you find it compares to the standard S Line suspension? I find the standard springs / dampers aren't quite up to it when I need them to be!

Strange. I have a 2016 S7 and it has both a backup camera and keyless.

Hi RAF. Where did you get your trim wrapped? Did they do the front grille too? ..looks like a tricky job. Do you mind me asking what you paid? I’m interested in getting it done as I don’t like the chrome exterior but didn’t want to but a black edition as I also don’t like the all piano black interior ...satin chrome trim inside is far nicer in my opinion.

I had mine done in Newbury at https://kjwraps.co.uk If I remember correctly it was around £150 and took a day. You can't tell unless you look close up that its been wrapped.

Ive also used Monster Wrap in Southampton for some PPF repair work and wrapping (on a previous A7) and can highly recommend them. Very friendly bunch, and worth a visit to get a quotation. https://www.monsterwraps.co.uk

If you're looking for something closer to home, it's worth shouting out on the Forum for any member recommendations.

Front grill is from the RS7.
