Ibis White S3 Owner

They are rather cheeky aren't they. So frustrating though as I need to sell my rotors to put the money towards the dynamics :hopelessness:

I’m in the same position mates dad has S3 with rotors and wants my wheels, I’ll happily swap so I’ve got winter wheels & tyres but only when I’ve got the wheels I want
(I also have much better tyres so won’t swap until they’re lower on tread )

See that would be the ideal situation for me. Would love to keep the rotors for winter and then stick the dynamics on for summer but atm I can't afford it.

Really want these Dynamics though, will make a huge difference to the car.

Haha possibly mate, I’m nothing like my parents

I thought that too but in the long run it’s really not worth it, I’m just gonna keep on top of maintenance until I’m getting bored of the car, but after a year of owning I’m still excited by it and it’s only stage 1, last 2 cars before I didn’t even keep for a year and started searching after 6 months

Yeah, I'm just keen. I see something and if I want it I go in all guns blazing.

I know I should just enjoy it as it is but when I know it could look nicer I can't help myself

It’s a daily struggle, just changing the dipstick got me fired up for ordering more bits...

It’s hard to ignore the voice that tells you it could look better, but if we didn’t we’d still be single

It's a ****** nightmare the modification bug. Gets hold of you like a drug mate. I put the alloys I want in my basket on demon tweaks the other night then bailed out :tearsofjoy:

Wow....you've done loads of work to it :icon thumright: love all the niggly bits you've done. Need to change my key fob as well as it's looking a bit worn out

Just to let you know the exhaust isn't the WRC version if it's the same as in the pics. The WRC one doesn't have any midboxes as they get replaced by a helmholz resonator

Ah okay, that's interesting. Either way it sounds like music to my ears so it'll do, thanks for letting me know though :icon thumright:

Yeah looks like same system as on mine, loud enough as is so would be interesting to hear a WRC one in person

Absolutely. Past 3000rpm its ridiculous up my high street. Had someone scream the other day.

Car looks pretty subtle so people just don't expect it.

Revo ceramic intake, GFB DV+ and Toyosports intercooler really do help make some extra noises, just standard exhaust but everyone round here loves the sound, people are always waving, staring and putting their middle finger up which I bet means “number 1 sounding car round here”

:icon thumright: nice. I've got a tunnel literally 2 minutes from my house as well, once warmed up I always let her have a little shouting match through there. Going for a drive tonight into Brighton, can't wait :yahoo:

@James__S3 has just had a WRC fitted.

I've found the WRC system perfect for a daily car. Pottering along on my commute to work it's only slightly louder than stock with a much better tone. Easily lost with music on in the car. BUT as soon as you put your foot down it completely changes, silly loud but really enjoyable for a spirited drive IMO.

Nige posted mine on their Instagram account, although this doesn't do it justice.

I'm based around the Heathrow area if that helps at all :thumbs up:

This picture has me intrigued, I want to fit a quad pipe system to mine eventually but always wondered how easy it is to remove the rear battery box, any tips?

I know it’s not but I really like the look man, I hate that my exhaust looks the same as a front wheel drive 2.0tdi SE with 150bhp :/

To answer your earlier question, not a clue mate. I haven't done it myself.

Agree with Sam on this one, dual pipes on an 8P is not the one. A good exhaust with 3" tailpipes should be a nice hint on an S3 but I quite like the understated look anyway.

Fair enough lads, it’s still something I really want to do, just think it’s something small that would really set the rear end off

Fair play mate, each to their own. Post some photos if you get around to it. Would be interested to see how it looks :thumbs up:

I can’t find the thread now but there is a lad on here who’s done it, I’d be going for matt black tips but you get the idea. I think it looks great

If I did it I’d buy an 8V backbox and find a way to mate it to a 3” downpipe (would either go second hand or custom made) with a 100/200 cell sports cat (purely for legality)

Thanks to @paddy I've just recieved these :icon thumright::yahoo: not going to put them on yet until I have the front badge sorted in black and possibly the new alloys, front splitter and rear diffuser but we'll see as I'm not sure I'll hold out that long.

Morning. Unfortunately not, I've been enjoying the car and trying to clear some debt which has left me in no position to be spending money on things that aren't necessarily needed atm.

I had to chuck down quite a lot on a service and a new thermostat not long ago which kind of screwed me up along with Christmas etc.

I think it'll be a couple of months yet but the plan is to spend a big chunk and get quite a few bits done all in one rather than one at a time.

My plan will only work visually if I do get things in a group as I think one of them would look odd with out the other.

Another issue is a possible ban, on my way up to London on Saturday a VW Golf was behind me so I may of had a bit of a led foot for about a mile so I'm now chewing my nails for the next 3 weeks living in paranoia waiting for a possible letter.

If that doesn't happen and I get lucky, I'll be sorting the car out in the next 2 months and it WILL be updated on here. Sorry for the delay guys

Think I've been extremely lucky regarding the speeding ticket. It's been well over 14 days but to be safe I've waited for more than 14 working days for them to deliver a potential speeding ticket/letter as that's the time they have to notify the driver (according to Google).

Literally nearly lost the plot, the thought of losing my baby, so now that's not an issue I want to start getting the ball rolling and firstly I'm going to crack on with the S3 and Audi badge on the rear.

Thanks to @paddy for sending the new black ones and apologies for taking so long to put them on.

I wanted to ask you guys what the easiest way is to remove the original badges is?

I wanted to ask you guys what the easiest way is to remove the original badges is?[/QUOTE]

Heat the badges up that you want to remove, either with hot water or a hair dryer etc. Then get some dental floss or fishing line and slide it down the back of the badges moving it side to side to cut the badge adhesive and they’ll come straight off.
The remaining adhesive that is left on the bodywork just again heat it up and rub or scrape it off.
You’ll then probably be left with the outline of the badge but that will just polish out

I wanted to ask you guys what the easiest way is to remove the original badges is?

Spray the badge (the adhesive on the back) with WD40 and give it a couple of minutes to soak in. Then using dental floss slice down the back of the badge, gently pulling out towards you. Then use WD40 to clean the rest of the adhesive off.

@samuelh_888, @ab1702 thanks guys.

I was wondering how to get the badge bang in the same place. Is it worth leaving the outline to line up the new one or will it leave a poor fitting?

Was thinking of outlining the old badge whilst it's still on with some masking tape or something.

Put some masking tape down the left hand side and across the bottom of the badge. Then set the new badge into the same position.
