Hi guys

So picked up my new RS3 Sportback this morning and still smiling from ear to ear.

Quick question though as the car came with the standard sport suspension but when I go into the individual settings on drive select and under suspension it’s giving me the option of comfort, auto and dynamic, I thought this was only available when speccing mag ride and the sport suspension was just one setting?

Thanks for any clarification.

Congrats! Those are just drove modes that you get on all Audi’s irrespective of Mag Ride or not

If you have the ability to adjust your suspension setting within Drive Select > Individual then you have MagRide.
Really!?!

That’s what I thought as was surprised to see the option on the suspension in drive select..well happy days then :icon thumright:

Absolutely!

Vehicle was pre-reg and dealer clearly didn’t know, I was happy it had the options I wanted plus matrix lights and red calipers, the mag ride is just the icing on the cake....happy days : )

Do you have the Sport Edition RS3 or the Standard RS3?
If you have the Black exhaust pipes then it’s Sport Edition model which comes with Sport Suspension, not Mag Ride.
The options for Comfort, Dynamic are driving modes.

It’s the sports edition mate.

There’s definitely a difference with the ride when selecting between dynamic and comfort via drive select for the suspension setting?

I’m still confused then, I thought having the standard sport suspension removed the option to choose between settings on drive select and there’s definitely a difference when selecting?

Anyone have the standard sport suspension and does/doesn’t have the suspension modes available?

Either way the suspension is great.

Ok thanks mate, very confusing.

So the sport suspension is still adjustable but just not as ‘trick’ as the mag ride?

Why don't you look in front page of the owners manual or under the boot carpet for the order label and put the codes into the below site to check the build.

As already said if you can adjust in individual settings you have Mag Ride.

Clear as mud that, put in all the codes and apart from rear shock absorption front and rear and suspension range 13 nothing clearly stating mag ride?

No obvious wording for other options either such as red callipers and matrix lights but it definitely has those?

Still conflicting info but I’m sure I have it with the option to adjust and the difference in the ride when set from dynamic to comfort.

Turn the wheel on full lock pop yer head under at the corner and look at the strut base where it locates into the hub you’ll see the Mag Ride multi-plug.

If you download and set up the myaudi app, it will give you the options fitted in there.
I had it on my S3 8V and if it's in drive select you have it.
Why not have a look at the bottom of the front shocks, if there is a plug connected at the back, again you have it!

Beat me to it lol

Thanks chaps, I’ll do a visual check tomorrow.

Re the MyAudi, I’m getting an error message where it lists your equipment currently since setting up the RS3, reported it to the dealer who’s looking into it.

The My Audi is garbage.

We get loads owners that complain about it but it’s down to Audi’s media boffins to sort, which they don’t.

The recent update pretty much rendered it useless to most owners.

Just download the ‘my Audi’ app and put you number plate it in & register your car. Then in the app click on ‘your equipment’

All the options will be displayed as ordered from factory so if you have mag, it will be listed.

Mine is under Safety & Equipment - Audi magnetic ride with RS sports suspension

You can’t even trust the my audi app I’m afraid, had a few owners demonstrate to me now how things aren’t listed on there even when they are on the car.
As I said in another thread the My Audi website / app was made worse by the recent overhaul, lots of functionality lost.

I agree, as an app from a major car manufacturer its an embarrassing effort.
However both the cars that I've had, have shown the correct equipment. The biggest issue I had was getting the dealer to define me as the owner as they had no idea how to do it or what I was on about!

Very hit & miss I'm afraid.

You don't know the half of it I'm afraid, very embarrassing sometimes especially when owners go into a strop about it, but ultimately nothing the dealer can do, we are now getting abuse because of the difficulty some owners are having with adding map updates / POI to the MMI.

Well mines all correct but obvs not the sure fire way I thought it was for all.

Yeah don’t get me started on trying to register it fully to me. I gave up a year ago ha

Maybe stating the obvious, drive the car with suspension in comfort then dynamic and you will be able to tell the difference from the way the car feels.

Regarding the myAudi app and web portal, used to be great but then Audi changed it and now its pointless. Its shocking that Audi have not sorted it out, its got potential to be a fantastic tool.

The first time I went over a sharp speed bump in a car park, I thought WTF. In comfort mode the the front of the car bounced up and down like a pogo stick coming of the bump. The mag ride backs of the shocks to a soggy level at that speed.

I had mag ride in my PFL RS3 and then didn’t have it on my TTRS. To be honest, it’s not something I would bother speccing if I was to buy another one.
