Does anyone know if the panel below can be removed for spraying?

I have just got the latest RS3 & this panel is now colour coded & i'm not too keen on it, I like the silver it used to come with but if i have a choice i will do it black.

Cheers.

Bumper off

There’s a series of clips / fasteners on the rear that need carefully releasing.

They are / can be difficult to release, but with patience it can be done.

Hello,
This has come up a few times regarding wither wrapping to match the Alu or Balck pack, or trying to reterofit.
From memory and a quick trawl back in time these links to past forum discussions may help.
I have the Alu pack on Mythos black on my saloon. Never could really get to grips with the Alu window surround so had it wrapped gloss black. It looks OK - you can tell up close its not factory, the place you go to and their experience in wrapping makes all the difference - a bad job look awful.

I'd be interested to see how you go, some before and after pics would be good - also good for others thinking about a similar process to see the final outcome!

And gutted for you to see from your sig you had an S3 stolen recently - hope things wern't too painful in getting it all sorted and going through the process. Kudos for a swift change to the RS!

Hey JWAM,
It was awful mate, they smashed the front door of the house in & stole the keys to all my vehicles, I was devastated, However, the small but pretty good consolation was the insurance & GAP insurance was very generous allowing me to go for the awesome RS3, its cost me a fortune in security for the house & cars so hopefully i will not have to go through all that again, probably on the cards with the RS tho........

This was my previous prid & joy the thieving scummers took, 395bhp too so i bet they had loads of fun with that on the way to the ferry........:rage::rage:

No Worries.
How have you found the RS after a tuned (presume stage 1/2 with that power output) S3? I was always a big fan of the S3, infact my first car when I started work after Uni was a 3y old 02 plate 8L S3, loved that car and ran it for nearly 10y as I was too attached to it to upgrade!
I think for all of us driving these cars key theft by force is a huge worry. I had mine factory debaged for all the good it may do, and a Ghost fitted for the opportunistic relay/car park key theft prevention.
Glad to hear the insurers and Gap cover paid out as they should. I don't think I'd be without Gap cover on a new/nearly new performance car.
Any plans for a stage one map on the RS?

Its hard to tell how much better the RS3 is to my S3, it was only stage 1 but the acceleration was immense, the RS is still very tight, just done 300 miles so give it another 1000 & i will be able to judge better, right now the mid range is ****** fantastic, not tried the top end, its not as punchy as my S yet but not far off, that sound though, gives me goose bumps, i'm knocking on 50 so the barking exhaust with pops & bangs it can take or leave but overall i absolutely love it.
I will NOT be tuning this one because when the S was stolen i was petrified they would find it because it would have had to go back to Audi for a minimum of new locks, if they found out about the chip box on there they could have made me pay for the outstanding balance of the car or take it back, i thought that was just people scare mongering but since i saw that you tube gut with the M4 it soon made me realize i could have been financially battered if they found out.

Just wondering if you ever had this done as my new car is exactly the same as yours and I would like to replace that piece as well. Thinking of wrapping but do like doing things oem.

Hi Scott,
Sorry for the delayed reply, i have not had this done yet as my car has been in Audi for the passed week getting some scratched glass replaced.

I have a question for you tho, i have also had a lighting issues on the interior, i have the B&O sound system, on my S3 the led speaker lights was on all the while the headlights was on but on my RS3 the only come on when you open the doors, they are saying this is correct for the new RS3's, are yours like this or are they on when the headlights are on?

Cheers.
