It's the base station for the cradle. You can buy a unversal charging chardle from Audi, but that really need to lay flat I think, so it would fall off the dash if you tried to hold a phone with it.
You have bluetooth regardless so you can pair your phone, but obviously not charge it, the pairing code is usually 1234
Just turn on the ignition and search for the car from your phone
This is the universal cradle plate, but like I said its probably not good if it was vertical
