Evening all, 1st post here,

Purchased a pre owned A4 Avant S-Line B8 not too long ago, coming back on the Motorway a few weeks ago felt some rubbing and found the front of the belly pan hanging off, Managed to buy some duct tape (9pm on a Saturday so limited options) and that got us home, managed to zip tie it up the next day and thought all was good, until it came off again today. I'm planning on buying a replacement, but won't be for a couple of weeks yet. My question is how 'ok' is it to drive without one for a while? would rather take it off than try to keep repairing it on the side of the road.

Also are there any stronger replacements available in the UK that anyone knows of?

TIA

Mainly to keep water and dirty out but will be fine without 1 for a few weeks I have had cars without them at all.

You'll be fine, I've had loads of cars in the past with no/missing lower covers and never bothered replacing, it's better to have it to stop water and minor things getting into engine bay from below yes, But really if you're going to catch something from underneath that would do major damage to sump or anything else then it would probably go straight through or rip off a plastic cover and do it in anyway!

That's ideal, will take it off in the morning and get a new one asap, will make sure anything it's attached to is secure as well, appreciate the response!

Yeah to be honest it does feel a bit flimsy, will take it off an monitor it over the next couple of weeks, easier to spot a leak without one on as well, i guess!

Thanks!

Was none on mine when I got it about 12 months ago. Never replaced it and never any issues.
Might look into getting a steel one for the winter as the roads here tend to get very mucky and lots of crap on them

I had a similar issue and the undertrays attach to the inner wheel liners and help them keep their shape otherwise at speed they deform due to the air pressure coming through the front of the car and catch then tires.

Remember to remove the rear bit if you have one else it vibrates really bad and would end up ripping off shortly after anyway
