What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Which colour nozzle did you use for the gun?
Despite purchasing the new foam gun I then found that 1/4 quick connector as supplied would not push fully into the female end of the stubby gun. After much swearing and cursing I managed to remove the connector from the new foam gun, wasn't impossible to do this time, and replace it with the one supplied with the stubby gun.
Now to try it out, when it eventually stops raining that is..

I did wonder, as was at WaxStock the other week and almost bought a new foam gun, but wasn’t convinced the 1/4 adapter was the same. Good work moving it over

I was switching between the white and yellow but couldnt decide which one was best. Possibly the white as it has a wider angle so is not as powerful. I think they mentioned which one for which job on the review on forensic detailing.

Nightmare, hopefully your all set up now. Just a reminder put the nozzle on and give it a blast away from the car just in case! When I hit the bathroom window I think it was as I was trying them all and didnt pay much attention to putting it on but am a little paranoid now.

I tend to use the white one

First outing for the new stubby gun last night. Really good piece of kit, feels like there is much more control (coming from a Karcher K4 Compact gun) as your closer to the car. Spare hand picks up the hose without thinking about it and the swivel makes things so much easier. You dont have to think about how to turn trying to figure out which way the hose is going to spiral round. I was considering buying a rubber hose but think I will give it a few more washes before I decide now.

Gave the Bilt Hamber a blast too, have been using Auto Finesse Avalanch for my snow. Done things properly and calculated the 4% to the panel, big difference to just hitting the lance with an inch or so of product. What dilution ratio are you guys using? I have the Autobrite lance.

I went through the test of filling snowfoam bottle with water and emptying it into a bucket. Turns out to empty the bottle about 20 litres (water) is used, So I use about 200ml s/f mixture to get 5-1 or any other concentration needed (also have autobrite), so these figures may help you

It looks the same only slightly longer, you'd think though all 1/4" connectors would be common to each other. Unless the one I've got has a manufacturing defect obviously not...

Thanks mate. What setting +/- do you have the foam lance on?

I checked out a connector at the show and didn’t think it was quite the same. Anyway a result

Quite a high concentration compared to what BH recommend no? I know John on the YT used it at recommended and it was still potent.

I might have got that wrong, was trying to recall what the measurements on the side of the bottle are, may be 100ml...when check at some point, but was correct as per BH ratios and given my 1L lance takes 20L to empty bottle

Nice haul @jassyo06. Apologies for the ignorance and after googling Fireball Nanocoat and what it does I thought I'll ask you how different it would be from say combination of Hydro2 and Cure/Reload. What makes it stand out. Genuine question as I have a few things to order including Cure and I am happy to replace it with Nanocoat if it does the trick especially on a ceramic coated car.

Just got Meguiars Carpet & Interior cleaner for deep clean I have already started.

Car is hoovered so I can clean the seats, roof liner, wash the carpet and matts.

Also, yesterday arrived K2 Klima Doktor, with air bomb.

Whole interior will be deodorized and new cabin filter installed

On the way home also got bicarbonate soda and sprinkled it in the seats and carpets.
This absorb odours and moisture.
Spilled fizzy drink few weeks back in the carpet (pierced in the shopping bag) at the rear and carpet was sticky.
Soda worked it treat and I could continue with carpet & interior cleaner.

K2 klima doktor foam used, odour bomb deployed, pollen filter replaced and the interior smell lovely now.

As for the car bomb, I DO NOT RECOMMEND one I have used: Dakota Odor Bomb.
Everything in the car was clean, ready to dry off over night when this messy thing decided to cover all interior with 1/4" moisture layer.
Everything was damp and had to be wiped off and cleaned again as it leaves sticky residue.
Nice vanilla smell and great product overall but it will mess up your car.

Given its £45 for a 250ml bottle mate,l think it's a potent type of Si02 product, l have to say Gyeon wet coat ain't lasting on my car at all very disappointing,I'll let you know how it performs as soon as possible mate

Cheers buddy. Hydro2 I believe lasts good 4-6 weeks on the car but Cure is disappointing. It might be that I have had it for over a year now and not used a lot (still more than half the bottle left). The beading with Cure is completely shi*e, the gloss on the otherhand is fine.

Mentioned a while back that I suspected something going on with Fireball . Not surprised they've pulled out of the UK market . So many products available now , saturation ? Fireball are at the higher end of the market so can't imagine sales being through the roof even of they are the dogs nuts

You had any news from CYC about that duff coating you brought ?

+1 to what Nev said , read a lot of good things about Zymol. WoWo's could be worth a look too .

Used this a few years back, a little goes a long way, but wasn’t into detailing in those days so was not applied to a properly Decon’d car:

But zymol do some seriously good products, especially waxes
I just wanted a spray on wax for ease of use for the families cars l could have got the fireball coating wax for a extra £3-50p but l wasn't giving them my 3 pin digit number on the back of my debit card in a email so opted for some guff at a similar pr and it's only a quick Detailer 200mls for £14 not cheap ...

15% for trade . I'd be wanting a better deal than that being honest.

Are you going for a few cars a day or looking to the more bespoke detailing aside of things . I guess starting out businesses is business though .

Have you considered going mobile like @FranA3 ?

Mate ...... We both know that detailing one car in a day , properly is hard graft . I know we're both a bit older but we're both tradesmen and not afraid of getting our hands dirty and doing a days slog . Full detail equals proper graft !

Good luck with the business mate! If I got bored of my job it'd be something I consider but takes some serious graft to get off the ground. Word of mouth is key for these sorts of businesses. All the best
