Hi. Firstly thanks for reading.

Hopefully this isn't a repeat. I've given the forums a scan and haven't really come across a latest wiper blade replacement post (especially rear ones).

I need to replace both front and the rear wiper blade. What's the recommended blade for the front? Bosch Aerotwin? How about the Michelin Stealth Hybrid (pretty cheap in Costco)? Are they any good? Any other brand (Valeo?)?

Also, what about the rear blade? Are there any branded ones out there for the rear?

Thanks for reading and for any answers. Really appreciate any advice.

Front blades, get from Costco. Rear blade, search eBay for the £10 ‘Audi 8V’ wiper, it’s the arm and blade but looks far better than the factory A3 item.

Thanks for the tip about the rear wiper. Is the existing one easy to remove, or does it require a special tool?

Just pull the complete wiper blade off, just clips off

For the arm, you need a small puller tool, it’s about £8 from eBay

No puller req, its only a nut, then the arm is on a spline, give it a wiggle and comes straight off.

I have been running Valeo on 3 cars now. Much better than Bosch that seem to tear easily leaving lines on the windscreen. Also much quieter than Bosch that seem to squeak loudly.
Only downside is that some of the blades have a white Valeo painted logo on the end. However, 5 mins with polish wears it away to nothing.

Thanks for the quick reply. Regarding the front, having looked up prices for Bosch, the Bosch Aerotwin are costing £17.6 on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-Ae...870821&hash=item2ce4a95875:g:5cwAAOSwES1crG9t). The Michelin Stealth Hybrid are £14.36 for the pair from Costco. Not that much of a difference really. Would you still recommend the Michelin from Costco?

The 8V rear one definitely looks better. When you say the £10 one, I'm guessing you mean the 'LST' brand ones? (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-WIP...032535&hash=item4b3c9aa218:g:dl0AAOSwdGJap9E1). There are also some unbranded ones for about £6-7. Should I be staying well clear of them?

Thanks again.

PS: On the Bosch Aerotwin, what's the difference between the 'Aerotwin' and the 'Aerotwin Plus'? wiperblades.co.uk shows both with a couple of quid difference. On their website the pic shows that the Plus comes with lot more adapters. Is that the only difference (if at all)?

On the 8V rear wiper, much of a muchness - likely to be the same. At £6-7 they can be replaced annually!

On the front wipers, I purchased from Costco due to convenience and price - I've not ran a comparison so can't help here sorry.

You must be either very lucky or very strong, LOL.
In my experience the rear wiper arm always needs a puller as the motor spindle has fine splines which seem to dig into the soft alloy of the wiper arm resulting in a very strong union.
I had to replace the rear wiper arm last year as it was damaged and even using a small puller the arm came off with quite a lot of force being needed ; it eventually broke free with quite a bang!
I really wouldn’t like to do the job without a puller , and they’re cheap enough to buy, a lot cheaper than a rear hatch glass!!!

Amazon product

i got mine from amazon for £17 and change from xtreme autos.
you want the a930s as its specific to a handful of cars that use the same fitment, whereas the plus version is universal fit for cars with old style wipers to fit flat blades.

when i fitted an 8v flat blade, i bought a £4 budget one that samuelh_888 recommended. they cheap sub £10 are all the same chinese made stuff, so go for the cheapest. fits well, looks good.
