Absolutely gutted a Monk Jack ran in front of the car yesterday morning absolutely no chance of avoiding it hit it square on !

The poor thing rolled for about 20ft then ran off into the bushes....

It has taken out the radar and grill bumper is cracked bonnet scratched air-con rad bent up front impact bar distorted and the pyro went off in the bonnet too no idea if the charging system has been damaged =( I have informed the insurance who will cover it all Goes to Audi MK this morning to be inspected .

The car is less than 3 years and pretty immaculate it doesn’t look like a lot of damage from the outside but I wonder how much damage has actually been done ....

Also means I won’t be making AiTP =(

Any advice from people who have had similar incidents would be greatly appreciated ....

Muntjac deer although small, the damage they cause is pretty large that's for sure. Gutted to hear this after all the mods you've been doing to the car, hopefully gets sorted quickly and properly.

What sort of advice are you after? The insurance will sort the damage and you’ll be back on the road again.

The insurance have all ready refused me a hire car as I want the repair done by Audi they said unless I used their repairer I don’t get one ...

I am concerned because of all the electric and Saftey stuff in the front that it is done properly .....

That’s was the same with me last year but luckily the Audi garage gave me one of their courtesy cars while it was getting repaired so didn’t have to argue with insurance company.
Car that young I would go with a dealership as if you have any issues with warranty then at least the argument would be it was repaired by Audi.
Unfortunately cars are designed to fall apart nowadays on impact to protect pedestrians. My dad hit a small deer at 15-20mph a few years back and on the face of it it was a cracked bumper. Took it to the body shop and £5k + worth of damage. Bumper, fog light, crash bar, grill and a few other bits had to be replaced. Basically the front end shifted back about an inch or so but it was so subtle if you didn’t look carefully you wouldn’t really see it.
Hope you get it sorted.

Did you not register for free Audi Assurance ? They organise all the work for you and make sure it’s done by a top quality place (not many Audi dealers have their own repairers).
Then the repair place will give you a courtesy car. As above, won’t your repairer (Audi?) give you a courtesy car?

Sorry to hear you had an accident. I don't know what the front end stuff is like on the e tron behind the grill but assuming the damage is what we can see, I would say its about £3000. Thats my guess. When you get a confirmed figure please update the post.

If you have expensive components that need to be replaced just behind the grill and it goes back to audi, it could potentially even be a right off believe it or not, which may not be a bad thing in the long run.

I hit a wild boar a while back, only maybe 20mph.
Pyro stuff was a few hundred quid fitted, front grill had a few bars cracked but have left alone as you can't see it unless you look real close. Replacement grill fitted would have been around £500 but I had no dents/radiator damage etc.
If insurance is covering it just get everything sorted out and in a while you won't even know you did it..........

No idea that was a thing ! Will see if it’s too late to do

Thanks just had a read it seems like a claims management company run by Audi . I’m sure by taking the car to them that I will get the same standard of repair !

That’s a scary thought ! I have gap cover and own the car outright !

Audi parts are expensive!
I can see that claim at least £5k especially once if it needs painting for new bumper.
Mine was 2 wheels and tyres, some suspension bits, labour and alignment. £4K+

I hadn’t come across Ensurance before. It sounds too good to be true. What’s the downside?

It’s a claims handling company they will sit in between you, your insure broker and the various companies including Audi that will do the repairs on your car , they will earn commission from these companies for being a middle man , which leads to increased insurance costs .....

Really what your insurance company should be doing ....

I used Ensurance for a claim I had. They were good at getting the car into a high-end repair shop rather than a Nationwide crash repair place that mt insurance company wanted to use. They were Audi Approved, but the so are pretty much all proper crash repair places. When I took my car into the premium place I was pleased to see it was crammed with Porsches, Jags, etc.

Yes but they said they wanted to asses the repair first so they can give me the best thing over the time the repair will take

That’s the kind of service you should expect from a premium brand especially after getting screwed by your own insurance

Hardly getting screwed if his insurance didn’t include a courtesy car.

Just me thinking I got screwed.
I got guarantee hire car and the terms are only at their approved garages. Not wherever I chose to go with for the repairs. £20 optional extra a year.
My fault for not reading the small t&cs but guaranteed hire car isn’t guaranteed.

The point is that all repair shops provide courtesy cars while they are doing the repair and this is the “free courtesy car” that insurance companies include.
As far as an insurance backed courtesy car is concerned, as you say you have to pay extra.
Of course, if you have an accident where the other party is at fault your insurance company may agree to fund a courtesy car if they are confident they will be able to claim from the other party.

I have never been told I can't have one and neither was this explained clearly by the broker .... all seems bit of a con to me.....

Initial quote for visible damage before the bumper has been removed not including paint for bumper and bonnet is 3.2k !

I used an Audi recommended claims handling company when my insurance wanted to send me to their own repairer.

Audi get commission for recommending and transferred my call direct to them!

When I started the ball rolling with the claims handling company my insurance came back and said I could have used the same Audi approved repairer through them.

Small rear end shunt, little damage, new bumper cover, reversing sensors, back bar, ceramic polish, don't know what else but I doubt very much. Hire car charges were astronomical @ £250+ a day - I had an A5 convertible for well over a week. (They originally offered a Q7 but I hate SUVs)
Total amount of claim.... £5250 :wtf:

It was a no fault claim and the other party's insurance paid up but in some circumstances the paperwork suggested I would have been liable for the hire car cost.

Personally, I would ask your Audi dealer who they use and talk to your insurer.

I almost used a claims handling company when I was recently rear ended but the t&c's were a little off putting as you have to accept the hire car liability IF the cost cannot be claimed back....which leads me onto the Audi ensurance. When I contacted them a few years back over a disputed claim, they told me they only take on the claim if the other party is at fault!
I dealt direct with the 3rd parties insurance in my recent claim and thank god I did as the hire car, a merc gle, was over £500 a week and I had it for 3 weeks. This was agreed with the insurance company before I took it as originally they had me down for a hyundai Santa fe.
Just make sure the bodyshop you use is Audi approved for your continued warranty

It would be your insurance company who made the stipulation about liability for car hire. The claims handling company are just an intermediary.
Certainly Audi Ensurance do not have a stipulation about the other party having to be at fault. I used them when I backed my car over a metal post.

LV courtesy car terms.

“Adding guaranteed hire car cover to your insurance means we'll arrange a hire car for you while yours is being fixed by one of our recommended repairers.

From£19.90
  • For £19.90 per year, you're guaranteed a small hatchback car
  • For £29.90 per year, you're guaranteed a similar sized car to your own (this could be a car with up to seven seats and have a maximum engine size of 2 litres)
  • Have use of a hire car for the whole time yours is in the garage
  • If your car is stolen or written off, we'll guarantee you a hire car for up to 21 days or for up to 4 days after we have paid your claim - whichever is soonest”
On reading it looks like a con. I got that for free from the dealer when mine was getting repaired.
You probably get it free from most body shops.

I had an argument with a lorry, I was switching lanes at roadworks before he got there and he just ignored me catching the front wing tyre and mirror.
I called Audi ensurance from the dealers and they wouldn't get involved due to non admittance of fault from the 3rd party!
I ended up taking the hit as my insurance decided not to fight it:shutup2:

I've just looked at the bodyshop paperwork.

Repair cost was £1773,

So nearly £3500 charges to the claims handling company for hire car, administration, Audi's bounty for recommending, badgering me to submit personal injury claim, out of pocket expenses, etc.

I'd rather have driven around in a Hyundai Santa Fe for a few days whilst my car was being repaired than feed these claims handling leeches.

Sorry to hear about damage to your car but thank you for showing some concern for the animal.

Hopefully your car will be back to it's best soon.
