Hello,

BAM engine, existing Mods;

- Complete 3" exhaust
- Decat
- F23 turbo
- Stainless exhaust manifold
- Mushroom air filter
- Badger5 TIP

The head has been refurbished, new water pump timing belt etc, compression is good on all cylinders.
I have 440cc injectors, up-rated fuel pump & new fuel filter but haven't installed these yet.

Running Shell V-Power (99)

I think I'm getting to the limit of this hardware setup before something breaks with this home produced map.

I have a problem at about 6600rpm the revs throw a wobbly (feels a bit like rev limiter kicking but softer), I'm thinking it could be the spark being "Blown out", but I'm not seeing any misfires, would "spark blowout" register a misfire?

(no need to explain "spark blowout" I've read the different explanations (ones that say the arc dosen't even get started and the ones that say the arc get's "blown out"), hence the "quotation marks")

The plugs are gapped to 0.7mm, rpm limit set 7200rpm, full log attached.

Any Ideas most appreciated.

Thanks

Replace coils and plugs. You should be able to match misses with knock voltage dips to let you know where this is happening.

Also check for ARMD intervention - you'll see massive drops in timing angle if that's causing it

Cheers,

Coils & plugs, new about 500 miles old (NGK Coils, NGK BKR7E plugs) as I say no misfires registered.

Timing angle drops from +15 ish at the on set down to -7.5, would this likley be ARMD intervention?

Wicked,
Your a star:thumbs up:

I see it's the KFDMDARO at 0x1DE7C, I haven't got this on my XDF and I'm not sure how to add it with the correct parameters.

That engine isn't going to last long if you carry on tuning it like you are. Looking at those logs you downloaded EGT hits 980 degrees at the end. The EGT protection kicks in when EGT exceeds 920 degrees. So at line 254 your desired AFR is 0.9 but protection kicks in and the ECU start dumping loads of fuel in. Your injectors are maxed out around line 238 they hit 100% opening time.
Calculate injector duration as a percentage by creating a column in your excel spread sheet =((RPM*DURATION)/120000)*100
Also your FMIC must be fairly small or your turbo outlet temps are silly because the rise in intake air temps is pretty big. Probably a bit of both.
You should edit the amount of logs you take as well. You end up logging a lot of stuff you don't need and it just complicates things when you come to look at the logs.

0.9 lambda under boost? If so that's way too lean... No wonder it's getting hot and bothered

Yep,

I don't think it will last long either if I keep running it like this, I've pretty much maxed out the hardware, time to tone it down a bit and put in the uprated fuel pump & injectors.

what manifold is it?
too hot
too lean
too much timing intervention, cause or consequence?

its not going well... back off your settings, add some fueling ***

Not bad for a first attempt at any of this, just got to make sure is doesn’t go bang.

Definitely too hot and to lean, timing factory (going to disable the ARMD intervention and see what happens).

The manifold is stainless, this one; https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32735073668.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3dd24c4dyiKhRh

Time to tone it down a bit and settle for the 260 - 270 HP for now.

In the longer term (next few months);

- Fit the bigger fuel pump & injectors I already have
- Fit FMIC
- Fit stronger sprung WG actuator
- Fit W\M injection (may be, see how it goes without it)
- Remap

On holiday from this weekend for a couple of week so no work on it for a while.

I hope you bought a few of those manifolds dude... they are notorious for cracking...

good luck with the "crack tastic" manifold off aliexpress
