What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Thanks mate Just been yarning on at the missus trying to give her an idea of what ceramic can do ......... When done properly of course

If I can get near those results then happy days

@Scotty75 don't worry mate, I am sure you will, better than you think you will. And we will be looking forward to the end results.

Jokes aside and speaking of favourite box sets, it's boring as I am really struggling to finding a good one on Netflix / Prime. I am wasting almost 2 hrs at night between 9pm-11pm playing episode after episode to find something of interest :wtf::wtf:. Any suggestions welcome, as long as it is not "detailing" related :scared2:

Not a box set buster, just a really good film I’ve watched this week on Netflix - Baby Driver. Some great car chases, a top drawer sound track, sublime choreography (you’ll understand what I mean when you watch), and an interesting eclectic cast. Aside from the ‘one last job’ cliche, I enjoyed this - gets decent enough reviews as well. Give it a try mate - reckon you’d enjoy.

Had these tin signs delivered today for the ‘McLaren’ garage improvement project. Really chuffed with ‘em, so if anyone’s looking for something to adorn the walls of their man cave, check out Road Knights on t’internet. UK based firm - good prices (this lot cost about 40 bangers delivered), quick free delivery and very well packaged. The missus rolled her eyes at the Champion yin - they knew how to advertise back in the 50’s, lol. To give an idea of scale, the Martini sign is 40cm x 30cm. All still in clear plastic wrap hence weird reflections...

Was meant to be overcast so planned to wash, decon and wax the car but the sun had other ideas. Got really warm when I was getting ready to decon so settled for just a wash.

RS grill is now on the car and chrome been wrapped gloss black, but waiting to hear back from the wrapper. Shoddy work so chasing a refund.

I've got some light scuffs on both doors, reckon APC and a magic eraser might be able to get these out?

Liking these, my mate has a garage with retro stuff like that too.

He recently got some mugs from this site to use while hiding in his man cave

Thanks mate, means a lot! Yeah RS5 grill and not an official black edition, got all the chrome wrapped in some black vinyl. But the guy that did it tried to cut corners... literally. He's cut the vinyl along the lines rather than tucking it in so can still see the chrome in a fair few places. Told him it'd be easier and cheaper for him just to refund me as he's taking the **** now. Will the probably use that money to buy a Das and get her properly polished.

I wanted one too, but the S5s with one were silly money per month so would have stuck with the S3. However this one had a cracking deal meaning I was saving about £60 a month over the S3 so was an easy choice. Next car will have one for sure.

Very true mate, current RS3 is a great motor that's for sure. Will be tricky to find one to match your Carlsberg spec that's for sure.

Yeah Very disappointing about the diesel engines, glad I got mine when I did

So l spent a lot of time on the interior of my car yesterday, glass cleaning, switches, leather etc etc but also washed it...prewash, tar removal and korrosol along the sides of the car...then applied some Wet coat....l also washed the mrs car...prewash korrosol...but also applied korrosol on the bonnet of her car to try and remove bug scarring..anyways after all of that l applied wet coat to her car, after a towel dry l still noticed some bug scars remained,so l thought detail spray to finish it off and remove the bug scarring, it did...used the Menzerna endless shine, very grabby..indeed but left a very high gloss finish..for a detailing spray that is...but no where near the likes of fusion wax...so it rained late evening.....WTF...Dreadful beading from this product and l mean almost non existent...l thought surely a bottle from a bad batch...even worse l applied endless shine to my entire car....flat as a pancake...guff

Surprised to hear that mate , would have expected that to be a decent product.

I feel your disappointment after a lot of effort. I'm sure we've all been there before.

You're not becoming a convert to qd / spray sealants are you after all this time

No convert l just bought the Menzerna detailer for convenience l googled its application guide and up came a review of it on detailing world..stating it was extremely hydrophobic..and its defo not even on top of gyeon wet coat...of which l assume has been virtually wiped out by the Menzerna
I have Gtechniq EXOv3 in the house so going to apply this soon....should get the winter out of it...also going to buy Fireball ultimate coating wax...on Monday for a fast fix...

I would mate for sure. That's a good brand so imagine it's got to be a duff bottle .

I tried out some Done & Dusted Si yesterday. Very impressed with the gloss and slickness, which seemed to improve after a few hours - I imagine it's curing. Need to see what the beading and longevity is like. If good then it's a bit of a no brainer for me as application is very wasy

Now decided to try and diminish the coating off my paintwork via snow foam here are a couple of photos of how bad the hydrophobic properties of it are
