Key Fob tips

Hi everyone. New to the forum. Just bought my first Audi A4 Avant 1.8T b6 and loving it!

The key fob that came with the car is looking a little tired. Has anyone ever tried reapplying the White markings to the buttons? Mine have worn off completely.

Also: are there any little tips I should know about the key. Can you close the windows with it or anything?

You can get replacement buttons on ebay. Yes you can open & close the windows.

Hold the unlock or lock button this will open or close the windows.
Plenty of key fobs on eBay, swap the innards.

You can get the new rubber button from Audi, probably cheaper than eBay.

My local Audi garage said they stopped making the rubber button bit in 2018 and can’t get hold of it

I did have 2 new ones but let them go when I sold my TT.
