Title says it .
Will be four years in October . Only done 24k miles so far . It still ticks all the boxes for me and nothing else out there floats my boat.
I don’t think of it as a twisty lane racer , to me it is more like a GT cruiser . Driving long distances it is so comfortable .
I still look at it and admire the look .
Sad to say I think cars like this will soon disappear off our roads . We should all enjoy them whilst we can

I agree 100 % . Our 2016 S3 just turned 4 years old. We’ve taken it on two long trips and find it to be an awesome road car. We love the size , it’s so much fun to drive . Love the SS seats , haven’t had any issues with our car.

Also love the navigation , just have to figure out how to update the maps.

One thing I very much like is that our S3 doesn’t have stop/start ,we’re old and while I love new technology , I hate the idea of stop/ start.
I bike a lot and it’s really obvious how often cars / trucks are stop/starting.

Why does a 2016 spec S3 not have Start/Stop technology.....surely it was mandatory by then?
My first car to have it was a 2012 Focus, then everything after that.

We’re in the States I don’t know if that makes a difference but no stop start on our 2016 Audi. 2012 Focus or 18 Subaru.
I think stop/ start was included on the 17 or 18 + S3’s.

I probably make more out of start / start then it is and I thinks there’s a way to override it.

I tend to agree. I’ve driven a few cars with start/stop and I can say that I hate it. I turn it off all the time.

In general I think it's a good thing and can be quite useful at times with a manual gearbox.....but the way it operates with my S Tronic is absolutely terrible and I hate it with a passion!
I routinely disable it everytime I start my car now, but do forget sometimes. :(
There is a device that can be bought and when plugged in will permanently disable the Start/Stop.

Certainly a Jack of all trades car, while not being a master one. Really are great cars, and great at long distance driving. It's a very hard car to replace.

Mine is living again. Had it's Heart (engine) transplant this week. So should be collecting it early next week.

That sums up the S3 for me, it’s almost too good at being fast without being particularly exciting, especially in s Tronic form.

It’s a really nice comfy cruiser but very little drama. Never loved mine but finding it really hard to replace.

Cheaper option to get it coded out

Glad to hear that Wab , very odd and scary what happened to you . I have another year of my five year warranty and seriously considering keeping it .
However , will check out insurance for major stuff like engine / gearbox.
It is a shame that Honda and Toyota have lost their way , as might have gone for a change . The Civic R is crazy if you are over 25 , and under 25 would think the insurance is punitive .

Hi all my s3 67plate is a lovely car but I am always checking out other motors and looked at the seat cupra leon st r and the cupra ateca.
The leon with all the extras looks stunning.

I would strongly agree, I love mine too. My 2015 is four years this September covered 22k and still thoroughly enjoy the car. I’ve turned my stop start off through OBDeleven.

Agree, a good all rounder and hard to replace unless with something that is more specialised for individual needs.

One slight criticism, hindsight always 20/20, on the acceleration side I now think the way it lays down the power after the initial turbo lag is a little dangerous. It always gave that sudden lurch which could catch you unaware especially once you are used to a much lighter steering wheel grasp in normal use due to the lack of steering feedback

Davetto , you are right . It felt really bad at first . Have got used to it and staying in dynamic (D) all the time helps with a flip into S when I feel I need it .

If I had the money I might upgrade to the S4 Avant, bigger and more powerful version of the S3
