What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Gloss levels pretty insane with Pure, and is one coating...easy

Finally got round to using mags ceramic hybrid wax I brought 2 or so weeks ago. I let i cure for a minute and buffed it off. Took some elbow grease though. Quite happy with the results. I got to wait for rain to see what the beading looks likes.

What detailing kit have I bought today?

Nottin’ !!! Lol

Nothing ordered yet, but those (like me) who have bought waxes, I've coated about 4 cars with some AF Wax I got and the amount in the tin has barely budged, at this rate the wax will outlive me. I assume others have a similar issue, what do you do? Buy a new wax and give it a go? Thinking of doing that and putting my wax on PIF.

Unless you're going to buy something a bit special like Fireball Fusion Wax , about £85 . If just use what you have unless you are not happy with the results you're getting from the AF.

The application didn't seem the easiest, but think I was using too much even though I followed the instructions of 1/4 turn in tub per panel, so not sure whether to stick with or look for something else.

Have you tried lightly moistening the applicator pad ? Works a treat

As in the foam applicator pad? No never as always assumed you'd want it to be dry, as water on the car makes applying a wax a pain. Least that is what I thought. Just a case of rinsing under the tap and wringing it out?

Exactly , just a little bit of water on the sponge pad. Then squeeze it out. Don't want it soaking , just slightly damp.

The wife did the detailing this month with the Monthly Valet-man visiting while I am away working abroad - get a reduced rate as the cars are quick to clean ( 2.5 hrs to do both cars inside + out ) due to the squeakily clean waxed paintwork applied over the last 3 months :)

He stops when I come back and I take over - avoids my wife going to the roadside chaps with the dirty sponges :(

I need to buy some more car shampoo and have been looking at Angelwax " Angel Wash" . Apparently self drying and prevents water spots etc. Just wondered if anyone here has used it or has any other suggestions . Ideally want something that's not going to remove LSP.

Just finished up the last of my Britemax Spray and Shine 5 litre tub. Tempted to go FK 425 or CG Synthetic Quick Detailer next. Had positive experience of both in the past though perhaps not "fashionable" choices. :)

Not bought anything but did a slims detailing course last week. They used my car as the training car too, which I was pretty happy about.

Too true. :D Black is such an unforgiving colour. Smears are a constant threat (I'm looking at you Carpro Reload)!

What is it?

Replacement short trigger gun for Karcher, so replaces the massive lance. Comes with different heads for different spray angles, and snowfoam bottle adapter. Is a game changer. Used today makes it so much easier and lighter and gets into wheel wells with ease

At £25 or whatever a bargain

Nice one mate, did they sort your seats out?

Nope.
Guy said where the damage is and the age/mileage of the car, he had no idea what’s happened. He said you’d expect it on the bolster on a car with 100,000 miles but not there on a 26k miles car. He got another one of their smart repair guys to have a look and he was the same. They said you could use an APC neat and scrub for an hour and you wouldn’t expect that to happen to the seat.
Emailed Audi UK and sent a pic and they’ve said take it to local Audi ASAP so they can have a look at it. I go away in a week so I’ll drop it before I leave and they can look after it while I’m away.

Now that is interesting. Thanks for explaining!

A 'nice-to-have' @scotty76 . It's for lazy detailers who can't carry the 'massive' lance...
I have a selection of lances for all occasions. :D. And yep I'm lazy. What I need is someone to wash the car for me. Oh wait, I can do that, just my OCD won't let me. Damn. :)

I know exactly what you mean mate. I never thought cleaning the cars would go so much down on the priority list as it has been for the last few months for me

If only Nick was as close to me as he is to you I'd have signed a contract with him for a fortnightly maintenance wash
