Key info missing... What's the price of the car?!

Factory Order £45,290 (Basic) & £47,185 (OTR)

Its not bad with a 5k deposit at 520 month.
Whats is the APR %?
I would summize its around 7% at todays climate....

Yeah just under that, I just thought it was expensive for the value of car

Sounds about right to me. You want a few more options on it, though.

Back when getting my 67plate the APRs offered thru Audi finance were around 5.9, there now closer to 6.9 which unfortunately makes a difference.

Try the guys at Magnitude finance for a quote (brokers).

Ask for Alex Baldwin, he did a fantastic job for me.

£30k over 4 years is steep. (7500 a year) The dealers are nervous about residuals in 4 years time due to many factors, particularly Brexit. Also interest rates are on the up. I bought a new RS3 in 2016 reasonably high spec ran for 2 years 24k miles at a cost of £7k . Paid £41k after £3k discount and sold for £34k . I paid cash so taking into account loss of interest (or paying interest) add £2500 to £7k = £4750 a year. Many ways to finance cars other than PCP, although Halifax do cheap PCP scheme. Check out the options with Financial experts and make your mind up.

I was told by a BMW dealership that they’d slashed GFVs on all cars by 15% “due to current market conditions...”

Exactly so... our country is in the merde currently due to extreme politics and ****** Brexit fiasco. Best plan would be to revoke A50 and think again whatever side of the debate you are on. The £ has devalued to its lowest level against the Euro for years. 1.40 in 2015 to 1.10 now. This impacts on exchange rates imports more expensive and consumer confidence. Sad times!

***, are you still rabbiting on about Brexit on a car forum? I swear if I went back through your posts, the majority of them would have Brexit in them.

No, the best plan would not be to revoke Article 50 (So you could theoretically get a cheaper car). We voted to leave, and leave we must do. It's called democracy. Far too much scaremongering and BS, no one knows what will happen.

Do you think that you continually posting about Brexit on Audi-Sport.net will somehow revoke article 50? Somehow persuade others to change their minds and rebel? It's not going to happen, Brexit will go through this year, deal or no deal. It has too, otherwise a GE will be called and the Tories will be wiped out and be replaced by the Brexit party.

Leave politics off the car forums mate. Your views and scaremongering alienates 52% of the readers here. There's far more to life than the GFV of cars ***.

Who is ranting now @ Leo RS.

I think if you check my post was factually based and balanced. Car prices have risen, interest rates have risen, residual values have fallen and we are in a mess. All calm and factual, which is what I deal in.

However if you wish here is some more fact....The UK High Court have stated it was a corrupt Referendum in 2016 and would be annulled if it hadn't been advisory. This is not democracy is it!! We will have had several PM's and GEs since then so why not Revoke A50 and think again as we are getting nowhere. We all stand to lose if our duplicitous non elected new PM causes us to crash out which was not on any ballot paper. Wake up UK.

I’m not getting into the Brexit debate but I wouldn’t be surprised if the fast change in technology, move to electric is also making dealers hedge their bets. I can see the diesel market falling out of its bottom shortly along with less economical petrol models.

Thanks, my original post was intended as a statement of fact! There are indeed lots of other factors affecting the car market but Brexit is reported as being the largest. Diesel is actually picking up in some sectors, note Audi new Diesel/hybrid S4/5/6, the initial Diesel scare seems to be disappearing and modern diesels are actually not that bad in terms of emissions. The Electric sector will surely grow but it seems to be establishing itself at both ends of a large market and failing currently to have suitable fully electric vehicles for the masses. For many of us, Hybrid is pointless apart from those who derive a tax benefit. Audi A3 electron and BMW 330e are fine cars but 30 or so miles real range on electric is useless for many. I travel 30-40,000 miles a year in several cars and have no intention of buying an electric car just yet for my 2-350 mile round trips.

Interesting time for ICE cars. The Model 3 is battering cars well above its price point so if you don't mind driving in silence it is hard to see them surviving beyond the next few years imho.

Agree re Brexit but I won’t say anymore on here. Interesting re the diesels, my view is just from the number of friends/colleagues who are now willing to drop their diesels for latest more efficient petrol engines and lower pump prices, obviously that doesn’t work when people are covering high mileage.

I feel electric is growing faster and faster, infrastructure isn’t there yet so dependent on that being in place.

Hybrids certainly are more of a tax benefit than a genuine solution at present.

Well said, however democracy must prevail and we get out ASAP.

Think about what? For those who actually voted, it was a very simple question ‘In or Out’ and we MUST LEAVE.

If this result is overturned there will be Anarchy on the streets of the UK. We can never trust the MP’s ever again and the complete political system will fall apart.

I believe drive the deal are offering £7k off list.

Didn’t the UK High Court rule that it was a corrupted Advisory Referendum. If that fact is true a marginal win is neither sensible nor democratic... is it?

I try to deal in facts rather than spin.. Audi’s are great aren’t they?

Regardless marginal or not it’s a win for the majority.

Some people will just not accept defeat.

Stop it please. Seriously your time would be better spent on the streets campaigning than in here . Whilst we may all have an opinion let’s chat about cars not politics...

Doing that as well. Corruption and cheating has no place in a modern progressive society. I just hope we can all eventually get back to talking cars meanwhile the value of our £ slips, import costs including cars rise and we are in the merde socially and economically.

Sounds about right, what discount did you get.

Mines £559 / month for a £58K car - £12999 depo and £23K GFV - 48 months 10K miles. Big depo as my logic was so i am not ever in negative equity (or only a small amount) as the depo paid for the options plus a small amount of depreciation. Plus i paid for the GFV for the other car and gave it to the wife.

I voted remain but only just and accepted that leave won. Interestingly they reckon that if the vote was done again, remain would win by virtue of the large number of of 17 year olds that wanted to vote but couldn’t and the older ones not voting.

@RGBARGEE the Brexit comments are a little persistent IMO I’ve got to agree. The comment on the dealers lowering GFV is useful, but the brexit debate is taking this thread off course unnecessarily.

Perhaps Brexit debates are best kept out of the car forums for now :whistle2:

Back to the OP’s original question, in my opinion that’s a reasonable deal on the monthly, deposit maybe a little high for it considering the car is quite low spec. I am guessing that the car doesn’t have the sports exhaust specified? You absolutely need that, for your own enjoyment and future resale value.

Sent a PM. Your comment about Sports exhaust is a personal opinion and one I 100% disagree with. 2016 RS3 had standard exhaust, sold fine. 2018 has standard exhaust. Hardly any difference with Sport exhaust and £1000. Of course some people like the noise. I don’t and nor do many other people, the sport exhaust makes no difference to performance does it!!

Absolutely it is a personal opinion, the general consensus when people look for these cars is that one box ticked has to be the sports exhaust. As you say it all depends on what you want from a car and the OP might prefer the standard.

When I posted before I actually had in mind I think these days there is a smaller difference between the standard and sports exhaust. Back in the PFL days I think the difference was clearer to tell.

Also another thing to consider for the op is save money, if you want a loud exhaust then pay PCW Mods £300 to make the standard exhaust the same as or louder than the factory sports exhaust would be anyway :racer:

Plenty of cars out there with standard exhausts so they do sell.

Absolutely personal! If I were a teenager moving up from a Vauxhall Corsa I might want a permanently noisy exhaust. The RS4/5 sport exhaust is hardly any different from standard so I didn’t bother. £1000 is ridiculous as was £500 for red callipers when they are half that on S4/5. I do however push the boat out on wheels, 19in Tits on RS4 and 20in black/silver on RS4.

Lots of people myself included , who are a long way from our teenage years luv a “tuneful “ exhaust !! On a more serious note , whilst I accept many options don’t necessarily offer value or performance gains , whether that be “sports” seats , or exhausts etc . Come resale time I do think they help differentiate similar vehicles and in my experience can lead to “easier “ sales .
The fact that this OP asks the question in the first place would seem to reinforce that . All personal taste as ever and that is what makes all our vehicles individual.

Absolutely agree, but how many times do you see someone showing off and think ‘**** head’. As for other options, I definitely always want a Panoramic roof. The SS seats on the RS3 are mainly aesthetic, the bases are identical, Didn’t bother on RS3 and current S3 showroom car had them. S4/RS4 SSS are a different proposition, love the massage function.
