Just picked up my brand new sport edition and got to say what a car! Wasn’t sure what to expect with people moaning about the GPF/OPF. But I think it sounds brilliant and it goes like stink. Admittedly I haven’t had an rs3 before and only ever test drove the facelift and pre facelift a couple times so cant compare the two properly, but I have had my share of quick cars and just come out of a Mercedes c63s cab.. so can compare it to a v8 biturbo! And already I prefer the rs3 in terms of comfort/performance/sound /practicality. That 5 cylinder sound is still there trust!
And if you do want more pops and bangs I’m sure there’s ways round it or will be very soon! But I’m happy with mine and won’t be changin it hope this helps with anyone who has ordered and is feeling a bit hasty about what to expect.

Like you came from a big car. Mapped RS7. although the RS3 is down on power by about 300bhp, it feels fast as its small, nimble and as you say sounds lovely, its great fun at sensible speeds.

Mine took 10 weeks to arrive

Negativity was very concerning was nearly thinking of cancelling order at one point and finding an 18 plate! But stuck in there an I’m glad I went with it. I ordered 8th April and picked up 24th of June so 11 weeks.
And yes smaller car and engine but big character! And if yourve gone from an rs7 and not complaining then I think that says it all. I’ll get some pics during the week when it’s cleaned and upload. I love it

Congrats and thanks for the positive feedback for the rest of us that are waiting. Strangely they seem to be getting built quickly - my dealer sent me an email today to say mine has been built and he should have it in 2 weeks..:yahoo:
Ordered it end of April/ start of May...
Going to b a long wait until the start of September!:help:

You're going to leave it at the dealer gathering dust? You must really want a 69!

I realised that after I posted and someone said on another thread that theirs got damaged at the dealer while they waited for a new plate..

:yahoo::yahoo:That was me with an S3. Mine arrived at the dealers and I left it there for about 8 weeks never again. I don’t know why, I did it really because I put my cars on private plates anyway. Let’s put it this way my RS3 arrived at the dealership on Friday and on Wednesday I am picking it up.:yahoo::yahoo:

Honestly guys when I drive it I can’t believe what people are saying. That’s why I had to become a member and have a say on it. Be your own judge but I garentee you won’t be dissapointed. I got told 12 - 16 weeks but came in 11 :yahoo:

I just called the dealer direct and basically hassled them until they gave me information! Didnt get an email

I got a call from the dealership within days of placing my order, then got calls at least every week.

The RS3 is not a ptach on the RS7 in terms of space, comfort, quiet and power but i thinks what makes it a bit boring at normal speeds. The RS3 is just fun, which I have missed.

RS3 is a bit hard for me so have new suspesnion to be fitted and road noise is an issue, again not a big problem i intend to address.

The only annoying this is the gearbox. sitting in 7th and nailing it to pass a car is pathetic compare to the 8 speed auto. I have a work around (I drive most of my time in comfort and auto) but thought they would have improved this by now. other than that cant fault the car.

For me the Negativity is mass placed. Carcjking wee car and some additional bits in the exhaust dont detract from the enjoyment

Why would you sit behind a car in 7th and nail it in auto to pass a car? Totally the wrong way to drive most cars, especially an RS3 with size of turbo it has.

It needs to be in manual and in the right cog, on boost with the power in the right place.

I’ve been behind things in such situations and almost rear ended the car in front it picks up so quickly. Absolutely nothing wrong with the S-Tronic box in my opinion.

You drive how you like and I will do the same.
