Q3 Damage to PCP car

My Q3 is 22 months into a 48 month PCP. It has two small debts on the nearside rear passenger door, and a 12 inch scratch to the nearside front passenger door (thin but can see white line and feel roughness - Mythos Black paint).

What should I do? Is it worth getting these repaired privately? Not my fault. Caused accidentally/on purpose when car left parked in car parks.

Always cheaper to get fixed yourself than rolling the dice on paying the repair fees from the lease provider. Find the best Audi/BMW/Merc approved bodyshop you can get to affordably and get them to sort the bumps and scrapes.

Trade before the end of your PCP agreement? You'll likely get a valuation that reflects any wear and tear but at least you will know what you get before you are trapped in. You could in fact just look for a valuation to see potentially the difference between your final payment and car value

Hi,
Trading the car before the end of your contract is one to consider, but as mentioned before, if you decide to hand the car back at the end of the contract, it’s definitely worth getting any damage, even minor fixed before you return the car. When you return the car they will go over it with a fine tooth comb and highlight even the smallest mark or dent and I can guarantee that will result in an eye watering bill. There seems to be a charge these people come up with that always starts around £1500 mark!

Does your agreement outline what standard they apply for fair wear and tear?

Maybe check bvrla standards to see if there is any damage in excess of their fair wear and tear guidelines so you can see what would absolutely need sorted to avoid a payment.

You may be able to argue some of the damage is just fair wear and tear perhaps?

Hi,

The document below is the Audi end of contract charges for damage or missing items. If states the BVRLA standards, so this should be used by the customer to argue any damage they highlight that you consider is outside these standards. As I said earlier, get the car looking good before you hand it back as every ding, dent, scratch and mark that falls outside the standard or isn’t what they see as ‘wear and tear’ will be charged.

I know the original question dates back to 2019, but in the current market there is no point in handing the car back as its used value will exceed the final payment by £££'s.
I just sold a Golf GTi PP after a 4 year PCP and received £10,250 MORE than the final payment.
