My car has 255/30/19 Pirelli P Zeros on the front
And 235/35/19 on the rear

Found it strange that the fronts were wider than the rears, normally it’s the other way round

Is this the way they have come from the factory or has someone changed them for a different set up

What are the advantages and wear rate of having wider wheels at the front?

That’s a standard set up from factory. It’s designed to increase grip at the front and reduce understeer. It’s a disadvantage for wear as you can’t rotate the tyres so the fronts will wear at a much faster rate than rear.

The wheels are wider, 8.5J on the front and 8.0J at the rear

Would it not be possible to swap the wheels round, so the wider wheels and tyres on the rear or should I just leave them as it is?

Curious as I don’t know if people do swap them round

I wouldn’t swap them the car is set up for the wider fronts.

You can as I’ve done put 235 tyres on the front 8.5j alloy.

I also run a square 8.5j all round winter set up on 235 Pirelli’s.

How about 255/ 35/ R18'' all round? can I do it on 7.5J ?
or 245/ 40/R18 all round ? on 7.5J ?
Currently running 235/40/ 18'' 7.5J all round and I can hear whirring sound on the front at 70-75mph at 80mph that sound goes away..
Now I don't know it is caused by tyres brand or sizes or god knows what... and they look too thin.. not nice it needs wider look

255 would be too big for a 7.5” rim. Also Some tyres are wider for a given size, eg. Ps4s 245 are wider than P zero 255. I run ps4s 255/30 19” on a 8.5” rim and I think 9” would be a better fit. The manufacturer will have a recommended rim size.
Your noise could be just normal tyre noise. My ps4s are noisier than the pzero.

I'll go for 245 then all round.. that noise irritates me ... I can feel slight vibration.. dang if I had spare wheels to test it ..

Should be running 225s on an 18" rim. You could be invalidating your insurance mucking around with tyre sizes...
