Prawn and BigAls A3 Track Car

Tuffty, have you got any vids of the s3 getting the beans?
No mate but I can probably get a video of it parked up with no engine in it lol

There are a couple of vids from a dyno run in my thread but other than that nothing but logs... poor old engine... RIP

<tuffty/>

I don't do car vids at the moment (bit difficult without an engine) but I have been venturing into gaming vids ;)

Nightmare, hope you get her sorted out soon. The S.A.S video looks cool.

I go away for a few days and look what I come back to

Speaking of vids, here's another from me!

This time it's been edited by @Rainbird so if it's rubbish blame him

It's too warm today.

I reckon he got well jell of all our VR6 builds and has deliberately done this as an excuse to go VR

...or just click bait...

Option 3: He's been so slow to get updates out that this could be referring to any break in the past 3 years :whistle2:

Nightmare. Compound turbo time on a 2ltr stoker or maybe a golf r engine dropped in. They do well for the power they have.

Not engine related thankfully Sam!

Well, it's sort of engine related, in so much as the engine was too powerful for the gearbox

4th gear finally let go on me a few weeks back. Out for a fun drive and 4th let go at 30psi! Can't really blame it for that I guess

Plans are afoot though, and as always, it'll be back better than ever!

Another @Rainbird creation for you all on this lovely miserable Saturday morning!

Stick the kettle on, grab a cup of tea, and find out what happened when Big Bad Dad and I went to Bedford and broke the A3!

Thanks mate.

I've got a new manifold from ZK fabrications, and the downpipe and wastegate have all been re-jigged to make the runs more compact and less prone to cracking in future.

Video for that will be coming out shortly :racer:

It seemed to spit the back end out quite readily. Back end a bit stiff, damping too hard?

On a positive note though sounds class and goes rightly.

Yea, it's pretty safe to say the suspension setup wasn't working too well at that point!

Bedford was actually pre new rear suspension setup, and I've got a few tweeks in the pipeline to try and help gain some rear grip back.

Hopefully cover those tweeks on a future video!

I just sent an absolute bucket load of money to someone in Bulgaria that I hadn't even heard of 4 weeks ago

I really hope this pays off!

Ha makes me feel special now lol.
I watched ur latest one threw ur Instagram account and im looking forward to seeing what this SEM manifold adds when you get it on a dynoed again.

@Prawn I know you run the emerald ecu.
Now I don't know any thing about them or there capabilities but this ignitron ecu would that have more safe guards and things now ur running such high numbers?

I bet that is SO much fun to drive and that’s some achievement mapping in on your ownn

You’ve lost me now with embed do das. These g25 turbos seem to be the business. Quicker spoil the better. I’m going to watch the track day again. Hope you get the rear suspension sorted out.

Hello you 'orrible lot! Been a while

'Orrible? Just cause you've been playing Mr. Fancypants Videomaker on another site, doesn't mean we haven't been doing our thing back here...

Well, granted I haven't been doing anything on here for quite some time, but that's about to change. Matter of fact, I've spent more time Volvo'ing than anything VAG-related

I best go and dig up my own thread and post something there. Cya soon, try not to break your car before I get there!

Hey Prawn, have you ever run quafe or peloquin diff on your car? if so, have you had problems with car swinging left and right during acceleration like a snake?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm running 1.8t with 250hp and I have this problem when I drive forward and accelerate hard and also when you want to pass cars on the road.

Hi Romka,

I've run both Quaife and Peloquin ATB diffs on this car in the past, and never really experienced any severe torque steer issues. This was using 8j rims with ET35 offset.

If you're suffering from bad torque steer, could it be down to some mega wide wheels giving you a poor scrub radius?

What are your bushes like on the front end? Often worn bushes will cause it to pull all over the place

Thanks for replying! right now I'm running 16x7" et35 rims with federal 595rsr tyres but with 5mm spacers (to clear the 4-pot calipers).

I have poly bushes on the front of the wishbone and TT/r32 bush in the rear of the wishbone. I'm also running silver project camber plates.
I also did alignment few months ago.

The thing is that when I floor it in 1st/2nd and 3rd then it pulls forward but 4th in higher speeds it makes you **** yourself when the car start to pull in different directions :wtf:
Maybe I should calculate my current scrub radius.

I saw this video when earlier, notice the comments when he pulls away
