I have been detailing cars for years as a hobby and I have some ceramic coating ready for the S5 however due to a lovely driver who decided to open his door into mine, I am unable to do detail the car as I would like until such time that the smart repair has been completed. In the meantime however, this is the first proper wash that I have given her since picking her up last week. I do not let others clean my cars as most people dont know what they are doing or care about others cars (professionals aside of course). She is, in my opinion, in desperate need of a clay and cut back polish but will have to await the repair for that, so hopefully mid July. Anyway, this is how she looks from her clean earlier on today

Not too bad MPG either considering.....

Shes got bang and olufsen, rotor grey seats, folding mirrors, heads up display, matrix headlights which I absolutely love with high beam assist, and living in a village, those lights are simply fantastic, enhanced interior LED pack etc. Its also got the optional sport diff as well with new Contis all round.

It needs tinting from B pillars backwards. I want to install a rear view camera and a few other bits n bobs such as the wireless charger and traffic sign recognition, but overall, love it. Fantastic jekyl and hyde vehicle.

Looking cracking mate! There is a detailing section of the forum where those like minded with yourself share pics and tips

Cracking specs as well there, as you say it's a great all round car, I've managed 35mpg average as well before and wasn't being too careful

Looks stunning, congrats

Also, that MPG is insane, I got my S5 a week ago and have averaged 18mpg. Best I’ve managed was about 24mpg.

You quite heavy footed (not that it's a bad thing, it's meant to go fast :p) but also is yours mostly town driving?

My long term average is 29mpg but I do a lot of motorway driving.

Im wondering if the red calipers would look better than the black ones.

My commute to work is about 25 mins, mostly dual carriage ways and outside of peak hour traffic times, so I can sit there and just cruise without ever really needing to stop. Which helps my MPG

The novelty of the exhaust note still hasn’t worn off yet so I boot it any chance I get (where safe of course). It’s mostly been my 6 mile commute which is stop start traffic

Looking good in blue!!...sad to say that the UK mindset is that some lazy lowlife sees a nice car and thinks ‘posh b***ard’ and will happily slam their door into yours in revenge for you working hard to own it, whereas they couldn’t even lift their fat **** of a seat to even go to work. Rant over.

My bad - getting the mk's mixed up. Mk7 then - the latest one.

I think red callipers would look great on Navarra I got mine done today for £250 which I didn’t think was too bad, they’ve done a great job.

Was going to ask though, on your rear breaks do you have a S logo as the Audi Bodyshop thought it was strange that mine are missing, it’s just the caliper no dust cover? (See second image below)

Rear calipers are the same as on mine mate, no S sticker/branding. Red calipers are on the long (growing longer) list of things for me to do to mine.

You should do, really happy with mine, improve the look massively!

Thought so about the rear brakes was just checking, saw a few posts on the USA forum saying Audi changed the calipers on a certain build week, the calipers I’ve got on my car are the same design as I had on my S3 but I’m sure the demo car I drove had S rear calipers, nevermind just Audi cost cutting I suppose!

Mine has the S on the rear calipers (excuse the rusty disks, just washed the car)

That’s strange, do you mind me asking what reg your car is?

Don’t mind at all, it’s a 17 plate. Not sure of build date but it was first registered the 30th of June 2017 if that’s any help.

I only realised there was an S on them when I read your post.

Maybe it's because yours has the red caliper upgrades whereas mine and Bells didn't

Might well be, mines a 68 reg so maybe they’ve changed something recently, seems strange they’d alter the design of the brakes though just because of the colour spec’d.

Might have a chat with the parts department to see if you can order the cover to clip on.

Just checked - no S logo on the rear calipers. Got a tracker installed on it today (Metatrak S5 VTS with remote immobilisation - installed at a place called Motorfit in Loughborough - absolutely fantastic guy and very knowledgable) Got decent MPG in individual mode (which is basically comfort but with the dynamic exhaust) whilst travelling the M1 with cruise control on.

Door is being repaired on Monday so I will get the car properly cleaned and detailed a week or so later when I am next of work.

Yeah no bother I’ll let you know what they say, and I know I’ve been slacking, I’ll be putting some up on Wednesday after I’ve collected my car from the detailers it’s getting ceramic coated and a few minor scratches removed so should be looking good then :icon thumright:

S5 is surprising good on fuel on a good run I got 39.8mpg on the way back from Kent (170 odd miles) same can’t be said for the 8 mile daily town commute I’m getting about 13/15 mpg at the moment :whistle2:

The best MPG I've seen was driving to work. 25 mile commute, 20 miles of motorway and ,15 of that sat at 40mph and saw 35mpg

I averaged 10.7 on the way home from work earlier

Can just about touch 20 mpg if I’m good on my normal commute
