Hello everyone,

Something awful has happened, my wife has damaged my car.

Somehow she’s managed to trap our house keys in the tailgate damaging the spoiler and chipping the edge of the roof down to the metal.

I’m hoping for suggestions on how to get this fixed.

P.s Has your partner ever damaged your car?

Thanks,
Arran

Damage seems to be minimal in the grand scheme of things, maybe try getting a quote from chips away?

Sh!t happens :) My ex-girlfriend once damaged the entire right side of my Civic so bad that a panel had to be cut out and changed.

The thing that can **** me off is not the damage itself but the fact that some women think that we won't recognise the curb rash or the little dent she have made - I can't be the only one that expects my better half to be honest about this?

**** does happen, and I know there are far worse things going on in the world, most things in fact.

My wife was honest and upfront and told me straight away which was nice. It is the carelessness that winds me up, I don’t know how many times I’ve told her not to put things on the roof of the car :)

Doesn't look that bad tbh, certainly doesn't warrant a respray as that could bring it's own issues if not done right.
I'd carefully touch it in with a touch up pen, you'll soon stop looking for it.
My wife once followed me home after I picked up the works van and drove on a completely flat tyre for 3 miles after hitting a pothole.......she said there was something wrong with the steering!

I think I like the idea of touching up the chip on the back edge of the roof. I daren’t say things have improved somewhat over the years but I had some bad experiences with colour matching on spray work back in the day.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the nubs/spikes bits that have been created on the spoiler? Leave as it is? Sand back a bit then touch up?

lol no, he didn't go that far :)

She was in the passenger seat and whilst having an argument at 60 mph she decide to yank the steering wheel left, they left the road, hit a tree and rolled twice!!! Both walked away without a scratch, she admitted what she did to the Police and they are prosecuting her :)
