So I’m enjoying m’new Karcher K4 (and the 10m extension hose I got from Amazon is a god-send - gets right around the car without having to pick up and move the base unit at all). BUT, one thing that’s been bugging me compared to my old Nilfisk is the quick lock hose is ‘locked’ in one position when connected to the hose gun (i.e. it doesn’t swivel in’t gun’s socket). I’m finding this means the hose gets tangled/coiled up pretty easily. So I’m having to stop and re-straighten the hose a few times. Annoying.

Might have found a solution with some other added benefits though, so order placed...

It’s a ‘shorty’ gun, and the 3 different quick fit ‘stubby’ nozzles give different widths of attack. No more need for 3 feet of Karcher gun and lance - this is just 20cm(ish) of compact one handed alternative (leaving other hand to hold hose and keep away from your bodywork). Comes with a quick fit adaptor for my Autobrite snow foam lance, so that will connect directly to the shorty gun as well. Looking forward to trying this - will report back. Didn’t think it was a bad price (used the forum discount code ASNET for 10%) :thumbs up:

This looks very interesting, are the different nozzles different fan sprays? Interested to see how you find them, been meaning to order that 10m hose you mentioned for the same reasons you said, the standard one means lugging the pressure washer around the car

Longer hose is a godsend mate, especially the rubber one so not inflexible like karcher one.

Aye, 3x different quick fit nozzles for 3 degrees of spray fan - I like the idea of 40 degree fan for ‘sweeping’ off roof, bonnet, doors etc. And narrow fan (without 3 feet of gun and lance to contend with, for wheel arches, getting under side skirts etc). So small you can keep the spare nozzies in yer pocket and just swap ‘em over quick sharp. If it’s crap I’ll be sending it back, but hopeful...

Just got these in. Cait wait to use them. £22 from eBay. Came with another sprayer and 1 micro fibre cloth.

Does anyone know what's in the KKD Citrus magic? As I said before they've sent me this instead of the AW cleanliness and used it firstly for my work's van through the foam lance but with limited success. As the weather was perfect yesterday I've decided to give it a go on my car but instead on 1:100 as stated on the bottle I've done maybe 1:10 in the sprayer. Impressed with the results but now after my drive has dried up I can see it had discolorated the asphalt where it has dripped from the car's body. Also, yesterday when applying the QD I've noticed a couple of clear coat scratches and a few very small patches which become darker so hence very visible on white paint. Could it be that I've 'burned' the paint? What makes me think I didn't is that the wax was definitely still there after rinsing and also I haven't left it to dwell as in, as soon as I've finished spraying it I've started rinsing.
Apart from these concerns I'm happy on how it worked in this concentration, the bug splats were just washing off after this.

Thanks all.

A dilution rate for this stuff ain't 1:100 mate through a foam lance its 200mls per litre so its 1:4

You'll need to clay your windscreen firstly then do a couple of applications of glass specific polish if you dont yer in for a lot hassle with wiper rudder and heavy smearing

Think I will stick with H2Go then

I think I have the old version of this stuff and deffo it says 1;100 on the bottle... I've applied with the hand sprayer at about 1:10 so not sure if I've done something bad... it scares me seeing the drive with the discoloration, I'm thinking if it did that to the asphalt... anyway, I can't take that back.
Thanks.

Your just been paranoid mate kkd are a reputable company your dilution ratio through a hand pump sprayer is far too much

Have only used AngelWax H2Go. How easy is this to apply and how long does it last?

Very easy mate, prep the windscreen as Jason said by claying it, then use a glass polish to finalise this step. Quick clean again with Gyeon glass cleaner and then apply three coats leaving 5 mins between the coats and allow 15 mins to dry. Buff off with the c2 and viola mate

How comes you need a Gyeon drying towel again mate? Thought you'd ordered one the other week unless I'm mixing people up which is highly possible.

Could have been me, want another one, as only a tenner, and often wash both cars at the same time or one after the other, so like to rotate and use fresh towels for each. Will now have 2 x Gyeon, and have 2 x CG Wooly Mammoth. And then other older drying towels I use for sills/door jams etc

Ok, so you would recommend M/F pad to apply? To wet car I gather?

Wetcoat is the same as Hydro2. I would apply it to the wet car and jet wash then by hand using a pad. I have always sprayed Hydro2 on a wet car and then washed it. Drying afterwards becomes a piece-a-cake!

If you are really feeling the 'urge to apply something by hand' I'd rather it is Reload/Cure

Aye pads are far better for a neater application, mitts naw to messy too big
I only use wet coat on my alloys now ....much prefer a wax over wet coat now as beading is far more refined...and less of it....

Applying/Rinsing it off on a wet car leaves spotting on glass and the paint mate l have noticed it all the time on avrils car

You mean spotting with wet coat? I have not used Wetcoat but never had any issues with Hydro2 on either of the cars.
