Cabriolet Questions

Hi everyone, recent owner of a S5 cab and have some questions about the cabriolet features.

- Is it possible to take the roof down using the key? I can put the windows up and down from the key but that’s it. I’ve seen videos online of people also taking the roof down but I can’t seem to replicate it.

- When I press and hold the button to take the roof back up, once the roof has been unfolded and and the car makes the beep the windows also roll up if they aren’t already. Now I would expect the opposite behaviour taking the roof down, the windows should roll down if they aren’t already, but they seem to roll up if they’re already down. Why does it behave like this?

Think you need a roof closure module
I am not 100% but I believe there not standard fit but can be bought seperate.
People have done this, just can't remember exactly who at the minute

You have to have keyless entry
If car is locked press unlock once then press and hold unlock button till roof is completely open
Same if open press lock once then press lock and hold sometimes it might stop if button isnt kept pressed

I do have keyless entry, but this only seems to open and close the windows. The roof stays intact.

Is there actually a part I need or do I need to enable the option that’s mentioned in the video link? Because I already have this checked.

You have to have the advanced key not sure if that just means keyless entry
Sometimes mine stops at just opening the windows so you have to press lock button then unlock button the press and hold unlock button also you have to be pointing key at car and be close to car .
Mine opens and closes roof from key no problem
In fact the dealer didn't even no about this feature until I told him and we tried it on collection day

I have advanced key, and can lower the roof remotely

Ok so it turns it’s a user issue, I’ve been just pressing and holding the unlock button but you actually need to click once and then press and hold unlock

it’s working as expected.

My other question still stands, why does the windows roll up when you continue to hold the roof down button after the beep? It makes no sense.

Seems to be the way the system operates when you fold roof down the windows return to there closed position think it may be less wind intrusion so its the standard setting and if you want to lower windows its up to the individual .
Personally I have roof down as much as possible but I've never lowered windows as well to tell the truth I've never even noticed there up will give it a try this week and see if there is much difference.
