Whats's the quality of Autoglass replacements compared with OEM?
I'm guessing a genuine screen would be expensive.
Thanks

The autoglass replacement I had a few weeks ago just didn’t have the sun strip across the top.

It was only £70 insurance excess so was the only option

I had a chipped windscreen replaced by insurance recently.
I asked if I could have an Audi OEM one.
I had to show a picture of the OEM windscreen markings and got approval.

A friend of mine had his jdm dc2 integra type r windscreen smashed and its a lightweight screen from factory the insurance and autoglass wasn't having any of it and replaced it with some thick heavy thing.

So id do all you an to convince the insurance you want an oem one but for this type of car I'm sure your be ok with a non gen screen.

We used autoglass for our replacements on insurance work and never had any issues, just be wary if it is some lightweight thing from factory lol.

I had the screen replaced on my Avant recently and I had a grey sun strip along the top of the original, the new screen he bought didn't so the guy kindly phoned up and asked if he could have a like for like replacement and they allowed it so he went and picked it up

I was going to put in for a new screen as I have a recent large chip appear thanks to a skip lorry, anyway I didn't bother as my insurance company said it may only be the windscreen excess to pay but it was still a claim and that would effect next years premium even with a protected NCB.

a few years back I had a chip fixed by autoglass and it cost £10 , I found out the following year that it was noted as a claim and they were increasing my premium by £50 because of it....

I wouldn't have claimed to be honest .
