Does anyone have a guide or know of a description of how to take to bits the furl flap area to allow me access to the locking mechanism as mine is sticking and won't unlock sometimes. Quick Google suggests this is a common issue across a range of Audis but I can't find a guide on the A6 specific and the Q series of them are not the same.

Wd40 frees mine up for a few days but then it's back to sticking so just needs a good clean out I think.

This YT video will give you an outline of what you need to do, maybe a bit more carefully that the guy in the video though....

This is an A7, it's the same for the A6.

Parts list here.

Cheers that does help. Found another video on YouTube after watching this one where someone in the comments suggests giving the locking mechanism itself a pull should release the clips. Will buy a new actuator then give it a go.

I've had to do this on mine. It was a couple of years ago mind but I remember having to puncture holes in the casing and replace that as well as the actuator.
