BH's Monza Silver B8 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI 143 S-Line Multitronic

Been having a crack at the list again lol

1. Had a really close inspection of all the alloys today & I'm gonna go for a 4 wheel refurb
I'm hoping to get them done this month at a local wheel refurber (is that a word lol)in the OEM colour, bright silver
Been quoted £240 for all 4 being 18's. Happy enough with that TBH

4. Had another crack & the steering wheel & gear knob today
I didn't realise that my Dr.Leather leather wipes that I had had dried up a little. Only found out they had when I broke out the new tub. Wow what a difference the new wipes are

SW as collected -

After -

The 'After' pic doesn't do it justice it is very matt. Not matt like a brand new car but certainly matt enough for me. 'Tis a 9 year old car you know

5. MMI screen got the @A4A4 lovin' lol

Before - plenty of marks & swirls on the anti-glare coating
The before pic doesn't really show how bad the screen really was

After -

I may have lost the anti-glare coating but I'm more than happy with a cleaner screen TBH
The sat-nav graphics are a lot sharper too

3 down 2 to go lol

That screen has come up like new! Brill..

Cool graphics when the parking sensors activated when caravan attached
Its the little things don't 'cha know lol

jWWPRRkl.jpg

With it being a factory it tow bar/electrics it switches the rear parking sensors off when caravan electrics are attached to the car

You don't miss the anti-glare coating either and you are right its looks whole lot sharper without it.

Looking forward to seeing the rest.

@A4A4 - Big thanks for the heads up for the PlastRx my friend :thumbs up:
Couldn't have done it without you lol

Like you say I don't miss the anti-glare coating & the graphics do seem a little sharper
Trying to fit the 4 wheel refurb in over the next 2 months but I'm very busy at the mo. The wheels are driving my OCD a bit crazy at the mo. My wife says I have 'wheel issues' lol

You picked up a real gem with the A4 Avant @Bristle Hound same colour as my previous A4, it looks the part and so does the caravan, I hope you enjoy the touring experience its great! :)

Funny I recently installed a tow-bar on my Dads A3 8V Saloon along with the Audi wiring loom and I coded with VCDS, so Dad also has the graphic display for parking sensors and the bulb warning indication on the instrument cluster, it certainly is the small things! :)

@Point_Audi - Thanks buddy :thumbs up:
Pleased its not only me with the little things lol

@jdp1962 - Jeff am I right in thinking that you have mudflaps fitted to your S4?
The reason I ask is that I am finding difficulty finding any for the S-Line Avant which has the same bodywork as the S's
TIA buddy :thumbs up:

The problem I had was with the rears: there aren’t any officially to fit the B8.5 S4, I used S3 flaps at the back, but they’re not a great fit. Im not sure how that helps, bearing in mind yours is pre-facelift.

@jdp1962 - apologies Jeff I should have elaborated - it’s the fronts I’m after. Did you put the fronts on your S4?
B8 & B8.5’s are the same shape in that ‘region’

Yes, I do have them on the front as well. I think fronts are standard across all models and mine fit perfectly.

As above the fronts fit across all models (even though Audi claim they don’t clear the blades) but the B8 & B8.5 ones seem to differ slightly as the B8.5 has the stoneguards fitted so going off pictures online they have a lip/clip attachment to go around the guard. B8 ones should fit fine as long as you don’t want to fit the arch guards ;) let me know how you get on as I’m considering buying some and slightly modifying the B8 ones to clear the guards to help keep the sills chip free as I think the B8.5 ones attach differently to the lining behind the wheel.

@Bristle Hound I fitted a set of mud flaps on mine when I had it. Got them off of eBay for about £15 quality was ok & the fit wasn’t to bad either.

@Bristle Hound

Saw your A4 footer in the other thread and thought WTF lol :)

Bit of digging and see you have a caravan puller :icon thumright:

Great looking car mate and SUPERB colour :icon thumright::icon thumright:

As expected, you have given the car a stunning detail and looks like new :thumbs up:

Glad to hear you still have the Cupra ... how many miles you getting out those front tyres ? :)

Thanks for you kind words @Snake Pliskin :thumbs up:

Cupra lease finishes in March 2020. Not great timing but what the hell lol
Too easy to bounce the cupra off the Rev limiter - it sure does spin up quickly :D

I might just might get away with not replacing the from tyres. Going to be tight mind lol I keep checking the depth with a tread depth measure. So far so good lol

ha ha ... could be a slippery winter in the Cupra then, keeping those slick front tyres going :)
I reckon you will love the monza silver though mate.
I'm nearly 3.5 years into my floret silver now, and being a clean car nut likje yourself, it is a breath of fresh air (especially straight after panther black & estoril blue) :icon thumright:

Just replaced the insurance for the next 12 months
Fully comp. £250 excess. Protected NCD. SWMBO & I to drive. Not garaged. 6000 miles / year
£212.51 with Hastings Direct
Happy enough with that

Gave the Avant a well deserved clean today. 'Twas absolutely filthy inside & out after pulling the caravan around for a week in a typical english summers weather

VP CPW
Washed with CarChem 1900:1 shampoo
Gave the bodywork a coat of Auto Allure Celator QD
Wheels given a coat of TW Hybrid Sealant Hydrophobic Wax
Tyre dressed with Megs endurance tyre gel
Exhaust cleaned with Autosol (tips are still a work in progress)
Interior plastics cleaned with a mild APC
Leather cleaned with Dr.Leather leather wipes
Exterior glass cleaned with CP Eraser
& hoovered !

tdesSAEl.jpg

Can't believe I haven't used the Celator before. Certainly leaves a glossy slick finish

Carista day today :thumbs up:

Changed these in no particular order excepting the ADS feature

Beep when alarm is armed
Unlock doors via remote - All doors on 1st press
Instrument cluster region - Was set to Germany, oddly. Altered to Great Britain
Gauge needle sweep at startup
Lap timer & oil temperature in dashboard
Flash hazard lights in emergency stopping
Require seat belt when releasing parking brake - No
Lower passenger-side mirror when in reverse gear
Remember position when lowering passenger-side mirror in reverse gear
Hidden green menu
ADS (Both of 2 steps done)
Show engine option in ADS menu
Show steering option in ADS menu
Funnily enough my region is also set for Germany!? I’ve enabled a few things on ours what does the hidden green menu give you?

Mate .... that has to be one of the funniest posts I've seen in a while pmsl :)

Photo of new chrished plate - with the actual text blanked out.

I know we all blank out our plates for security but I just found this particular post (& picture of said plate) quite humerous :icon thumright: :tearsofjoy:

I had a chuckle as well, but what really puzzles me is why we think a photo of a registration is less secure than the actual plate being on permanent display to the world at large.

@jdp1962 - My previous job made me / makes me a bit paranoid about these things Jeff :(

Just been doing my fuel calculation usage from our recent caravan trip
240 miles at 27.6mpg using Shell diesel V-power

Happy enough with that as there was 1 hour slow driving in a ****** long queue (don't ask) & plenty of up hill & down dale roads to negotiate too
