looks very nice with the dark alloys.
Yea its bmw stratus grey got a few different colours to it and its different from most wheels out there. Aiming for ksport 8 pot calipers at some point with blue calipers to match the blue theme going on but abit away from that yet. Not too bad the price on them anyway for big brake kit

Been to a certain members gaff in Surrey and relieved him of copious amounts of black Nappa leather interior fittings........

That's why I don't drive more than a few miles away from home unless I really have too, its bonkers.
Was planning on moving to the lake district, but that's getting overrun now.:sadlike:

Must be the whole of Britain - we've all gone mad!
When I get my way, I'll be moving to a nice quiet, wine-producing corner of Germany......bliss!

But BTT, today I are mostly be going to give that leather some attention and perhaps strip out the interior of the car in readiness for fitting it all in. Then I need to find a heater control unit with the heated seat buttons.

Heated seats controller..lol

Bought some from Amazon... Installed one on the passenger side as it took me 3 days to remove the sear covers. Long story short they suck!

Seats fitted - no wiring for heated pads, so I'll just leave as is for a while.
For the extra cost for Valcona leather at point of sale, the two things they don't have that my 'Council Spec' S line does - or did - is the under seat cubbies (they'll get fitted at a later date) and the rear armrest cupholders. I can't be ***** to start cutting the leather about to fit the cartridge, let alone wrestle the armrest out!

It's like Christmas when bits turn up for the 3.0tdi Quattro.
Rear top and lower arm set arrived today.
AP suspension, febi bilstein front control arm set and the rear stabilizer things all enroute.
Can't wait to get it all fitted.

Picked up the replacement roofbars from the powdercoaters today and popped them on, well by popped i mean spent an hour having a fight with the interior trims to access the 6 nuts.

Anway all done now, so thats it as far as the de chrome goes, the window trims and badges will stay chrome with the addition of some chrome exhaust tips when i find the right ones.

The under seat pods are another option, same with the cup holders, strangley though you will find both those option are more likely to be factory fit in the SE variant, not sure why but I have seen a lot that way.
Its an audi thing..lol

I've fitted my old front seat backs as they have the 'luggage storage (as it says on the stickers inside them!).
I've got the front seat cubbies ready to fit and have now managed to get the old armrest with cup holders out, so I may well recover my old armrest and stick that in.
All in good time.....................

Ok so today I finally got my xtrons unit to power on!

Looks brilliant I think, and you'd have to do a double take to know it wasn't stock.

I'll try get one when it's darker...

Just got sort out the hissing sound that seems to be coming from the front centre for some reason...

What software version does it come with nowadays?
I'm thinking of replacing mine with a newer slim-fit model(still 7" screen, but different). Buddy of mine just bought that for his Passat, and even with the OEM ROM on there, it is faster and better then this Xtrons(even though I am already running a Malaysk ROM, which has improved start-up times enormously)

It's this one:
https://xtrons.co.uk/audi-seat-various-android-9-0-in79aa4ap
So android 9.0...

I've not had any issue with start up time now that I've wired the constant live and Ignition together... it's practically instant on.

To be honest, as long as I can get my music and sat nav stuff going I'm happy..

This evening I'll try to get the steering wheel controls working, and wire the illumination into the constant live as well and then start to figure out the hissing noise..

Sold it, sad day.....

why ?
it was a great car Jon.

It remains to be a great car Rob, just don’t do the miles for a diesel. New purchase lands on Tuesday though so I’ll still be around....

Sadly very common these days, lower usage just doesn't make them worth keeping, anyway hope you enjoy its replacement and do keep popping in to the forum.

Made the spot descision this morning to fit the cd changer to the old bus today, I really cant be messing around copying my extensive cd collection to sd cards, I'd rather just load six discs at a time and then reload 6 hours later.

now where is that tool kit and mug of tea.

Have you gone for the glovebox changer or boot version? I fitted a glovebox changer just need to pick up the wiring harness to get it powered up

Glovebox changer, I knows they are old hat now but for me its so much better to use my existing cd's , sdcard route is great but not for me to be honest.

SD card or USB stick are my preferred method of music in the car - you can get thousands of tracks or dozens of albums onto one of them and, in fact, the Pioneer can have 2 of them on at the same time so double the quantity! It's not impossible to have your entire music collection on board at all times! :smug:

yep agreed, but I would rather use my cd's as they are instead of copying them all to sd, I like to listen to them not spend hours if not days copying them on sd media, all personal choice really.
I suspect one day i'll have too but i'd rather it wasn't just yet.

Just go Bluetooth and Spotify. All the music, none of the hassle of sd/usb.

Bought it LOL

Well fitted the replacement changer glove box inners, and the changer etc so not to bad but came to a rapid halt with the k-line wiring so need to sort that tomorrow but otherwise straight forward.
Decided to abort the sale of the rs4 wheel as i'm not letting it go for silly cheap money....that's gone back on today aswell.

that's about it really .

Not on today's todo list but most certainly on tommorows.
Have some slight vibration from the front wheels at higher speeds, seems to have started since fitting a pair of 5mm spacers on the fronts, being only 5's they are not really proper hubcentric spacers so I suspect they are the cause.
Will swap over to a pair of proper hubcentric 8's and see how it turns out.
Currently running 10's on the rear so 8's on the front will still be fine for my purpose.
