Maybe a mad question but how do the rs4 b7 door mirrors fold , well if they fold that is.
I was about to invest in a pair for the old bus but kinda held off until I was a tad more enlightened on the subject.
found a few sets around but seem overpriced as per normal for parts that involve the word "RS"
£600 seems a bit excessive really .

any thoughts chaps.

Thanks for the reply but that is the normal door mirror , same as I already have .
RS4 ones are different shape .

Thanks, ah I see then, the cabs came with the A4 folding type but the saloon and avant came with the other shape which i was looking at ,with a pair of oval lugs.
cant see wether they are folding though.
 
From what I could glean the ones on two legs are fixed. Power ones are A4 style. I could be wrong.

Yes kinda what I thought looking at that page, bit of a pain if someone clonked one though and it didn't move.
may have to delve deeper into the subject before throwing funds at a set.
 
Just found a link on this forum that does state the saloon and avant mirrors are indeed fixed, cab uses A4 folding type.
Based on that I may give them a miss then.

I have oem S4 ally covers on my current mirrors, just fancied something different to be honest , but not at the chance they will just get ripped off....
 
The RS mirrors you have Rob do not fold, not even manually. I think if an RS was specced with folding mirrors you would have standard A4/S4 mirrors instead of the rounded sporty looking items
 
I do like them but knowing my luck some plank would drive past to close and rip them of , well the same sort of thing that happen's in most supermarket car parks....:shrug:

Speaking of door mirrors Rob, ive taken my old caps into work to be painted in the grille surround silver, is your grille finished in gloss or matte?
 
my grille is satin silver , door mirrors cover are ally finish , somewhere between satin and gloss if that makes sense, that said both are a very similar colour just the finish is different.
 
Just had a quick look , the mirrors cover finish is almost identical to the roof bars colour shade and finish.

Okay, sound ill get them painted tomorrow hopefully and let you guys know on the grille surround thread how it looks. Some rs4s have full matching trim and mirror caps in the colour im playing with.
 
They're about the same colour as the window trim and wheels on an RS4.
Confirmed that only the cab ones fold.

on a side note,
rs4 grille is available in two options only, standard is satin silver, optional black optic pack is gloss black.

satin silver: 8E0-853-651-L-3FZ
gloss back (0ptic pack option) 8E0-853-651-L-3 AFVMZ
