Had my A6 + wife's A1 at the Main Dealer for Servicing and they offer a Courtesy car ( A1 is on a 5 Year Service Plan and A6 it's first Service ).

Nearly had to get the Detailing Stuff out the shed when I saw the state of the Courtesy Car - a Q2 with less than 1000 miles on clock.

Swirls all down the side as it sat in the sun with 'product' all over the paint from their Valet Team.
Colour may look ok on S3's etc Ara blue, crystal effect but not on this in standard trim.

At least they adhered to my instructions not to wash our cars so a plus point.

Must say the 35 TFSI with Auto Box in S-Trim ( 27k worth on their website ) was not that good to drive and felt a bit slow.
Inside it was certainly built to a price, with plastic feeling side leather to the seats and cheap plastics to the inside - my miss's A1 Sport is better trimmed and not on par with my A6 S-line trim.

At my local dealership I would say anything owned by them has swirls and scratches...

My RS3 was ****** up by them giving it a wash a few times during my ownership. They never touched the RS4 thankfully.

That's just shockngly lazy on their part! If I were the manager I'd be thinking along the lines of "Give them a nice clan car that may get them thinking about buying a car like that"...it's all about first impressions!

When I went to test drive a Mercedes A Class I was given a black filthy 1.3 version, not the engine I requested. When my A3 saloon was once in for warranty repairs they gave me a disgustingly dirty A3 1.6 devil's engined 3 door that went back far cleaner than when I picked it up. I definitely felt like putting the car through a conveyor car wash to save my efforts and to spite Audi's face...

Audi Leeds sling your car through there very own rotating car wash thing, you no like them supermarket types that you drive into.

Oh jeez, totally wrong in so many ways. I wonder if they have a disclaimer against being sued...

I had mine cleaned by Lake District Audi and now Oxford Audi, only had one complaint with them (on the cleaning front anyway!) they completely coat the tyres with some crap which then ran onto the wheels and looked crap.
I detail mine so maybe I've just never noticed that it comes back that bad

Us car cleaning enthusiasts are a small minority in an otherwise large motoring community. My dealership seemed quite taken back when I kindly refused there offer to wash my car when it was last there for a fuel pump module recall.
He even wrote on the job sheet to not to wash customers car, they didn’t thankfully

Imagine your new car getting that treatment then delivered to you under the magic car cover in the showroom.
Know Automatic car washes have come a long way these days but.....

My Dealer also think I am a strange fellow when I ask for it not to be washed, as it is all part of the Audi Experience :). Yes the experience is why you won't go near it with a feather duster - unless part of the experience is to put deep swirl scratches on the roof.
