Hi all,

I know it's been discussed before, but I'd like a definitive answer...Can Carly/OBD II/Carista currently enable/disable the exhaust valves without glitches?

After my recent trip to Wales and complaints from the missus, I'd like to be able to re-enable the valves occasionally when I'm going on long motorway trips, as coupled with my res delete it's droning quite loudly once you're cruising over 60 mph. Lovely the rest of the time though lol.

TIA

I use ODBeleven, works just fine

Great, so you can enable/disable valves whenever you feel like it (obviously when you've pulled over as it's not a remote valve control)?

Yes, I tend to close them before motorway journeys (res delete)
You have to use credits which you can buy, or just watch some adverts in the app for free ones, you can get 5 credits a day for free, each change to flaps uses 10 credits

Carista can’t do it! Heard afew people say it’s in beta atm on Carista but doesn’t work, obd11 works just fine like mentioned above though it’s at a cost!
Pull the plugs and get the little things you can plug them into to stop it from throwing out the error code is what I’ve been told to do.

I don't need it for the error codes, I had the valves disabled via VCDS. I need it as I have res delete and it drones on motorway. I heard that too about Carista, shame it's not working properly as I bought a Carista reader a while ago but my free 30 day licence expired.

Might just wait it out until Carista get it working permanently as OBDEleven (the new one which is what I would get) is 100 Euros for device with pro licence.

If you have the Pro version of OBD11, you can just code it yourself instead of the App, no cost...

There's no reason to get the new version if you're using Android... It's a bit faster, but the old isn't all the slow and get the job done just fine. And the best news is it's now at reduced price with the new version due out.

Ooh interesting, I am on Android, so I can get the old device for 40 Euros and potentially view some ads to get credits without needing the pro licence to open/close the valves?

Exactly the reason why I never bought obd11 too, but still I can’t get it I’m on iOS :boxing: I don’t see how it’s not possible to get it working for an iOS device though! Apple won’t give licensing more than likely! I’m still holding out to see if Carista get it working. I’ve not got a res delete yet so I might just get that and keep exhausts as normal is the drone on motorways that bad with disabled valves and res delete??

In 2 weeks the new OBDEleven dongle is out and will have iOS support shortly so you'll be able to use it at some point in the future.

I would say that if you're driving 70 or below the noise is OK but once you go over 70 it gets quite loud, and I've got my kids in the back seat and don't want them going deaf as it must be much louder back there than in the front! Also it's constant which can drive you nuts.

@Jud can you confirm that you don't need the PRO licence for exhaust flaps function? On their website it shows that only PRO has coding/coding II/long coding functions...

Not sure as I do have the pro version

Mine is a 310fl and there is no drone at motorway speeds as the 7th gear keeps the revs low enough. I’m assuming you’re pfl ? I Use obdeleven with pro licence, there is no app on the fl app so you have to use long coding

I couldn’t get the long coding to work on my fl.
get something along the line of coding rejected or something not available.

Nope. Just before. Registered August 2018.

Might be worth trying it again, mine was registered 31st August 2018. Did read a few people saying it didn’t work and then suddenly accepted

First time I tried it was something coding out of range with old vcds cable then tried obd11 and different error codes.

I’ve just tried mine again, ignition on, engine, byte 9 and select exhaust flap. Enabled them again and it reported success. However, even in comfort all 4 exhaust were venting. Just Googled and a few People have reported car needs to be left a while, maybe like a reboot kind of thing. Then enabled again and that reported success. I’d like to see my flaps can still work if needed however. Will try again the weekend

Yes I’m PFL as per thread title ;)

Just tried it again and I get ‘function cancelled, marginal conditions have not been met’

Same problem here you solved ? I made the adaptation without problem but now I get that error. thanks in advance

Obdeleven non pro should do it, download the app and take a look before buying the dongle. IIRC you need the car is sport mode, then open the app, hit the exhaust valve open button and that's it.

very Strange, im doit the same procedure, but this time after turn off the engine while leave on sport mode (dynamic+s) with the engine off i put contact and move the shift to parking mode, afther that the mod its complet, and i can open and close the valves but only leave on parking mode after press the option. I order the cete valve active to switch on/off better :)

Can anyone confirm this?
Missed the Black Friday prices yesterday :/
