I have my A4b7 2.0tfsi BUL in for a stage 2+ tune at R-tech soon. I have uprated hpfp, fmic, latest diverter valve, pcv delete with catch can, full exhaust system and uprated Sachs clutch kit.

What numbers have people made from a K03 turbo in the last? I'm really hoping for around 280bhp but people have said they max out at 300....

hope yours isn't a quattro chap as they cant do quattro's,well unless they have had new equipment fitted now.

2wd lads, I will be changing the turbo, injectors and adding an RS4 pressure valve at a later date. But at the moment just sticking with a stage2+ map with the K03.

I have been doing some research regarding this upgrade, but read somewhere that the K04 is better, stronger, and more reliable! And to be honest I turned on my logic hat and thought, the K03 has smaller internals, how do people claim it makes more power?? And to make things more mysterious the VW guys are swapping the K03 with the K04.

Yeah I know that the K04 is pretty much better in every way and that many people do K03 to K04 conversions. I just want to know the maximum power output of the K03. If I had the funds to do the conversion or hybrid the K03 I'd have done it by now :)

Total pub science max dyno estimation is 260bhp for K03 or K03s then 300bhp for K04 but to be honest I really don't know what I'm talking about here just had a quick two minute search on other VW/Seat forums.

Interestingly I now own a four wheel drive 2.3l petrol Mazda which comes with a K04 making 260bhp stock and supposedly 300bhp mapped.

My friend has the Mazda 6 mps which has been stage 1 'mapped' but in all honesty it doesn't feel anywhere near 300bhp considering I can keep up with him whilst pushing like 240bhp. In interest have you had your Mazda on a Dyno?

Nah but it feels plenty fast enough, front wheel drive A4 I had at 205bhp was good when it got going but couldn't do much off the line no matter how many things it had to try improve traction.

I fully understand, I basically won't bother trying anything from a standing start, will only accelerate once rolling. Better for the clutch too I suppose.

Just over a week ago i had a little race at the lights with a bmw 330d f30 and they are very quick cars especially to 60mph, i was in my fwd special edition with only 220hp from a stand still to about 70 the f30 only ever pulled a car length ahead, its just the case of low revs then feathering the clutch and the loud pedal, it is difficult to master in fwd turbo cars but when you know where the sweet spot is its easy :)

2wd have a small a edge from standstill over the quattro's, and it is small but that's the case with most 4wd v 2wd , 2wd you can dump the clutch and will get wheelspin but quattro's will just get up and go, but clutch does take a hammering so best plan is to allways ensure you quattro clutch is a good as possible , more if you have a remap .
Based on manual clutch not auto or the like that is.
My old C4 was a shade slower from standstill compared to C2 but it was only marginal and quickly passed the c2.

On what planet :playful: 2wd may have an edge on a roll down to the lower weight (so long as it doesn't have so much power it's spinning in all gears).

Didn't mind feathering the pedals from standstill at the time but much more enjoy launching like a loon without having to think about it now.

I agree 4wd is always better off the line and 2wd is better on a roll due to not carrying that heavy 4wd that does nothing but hold it back after 60, i was making the point launching 2wd is more than possible it is only 200 odd hp at the end of the day its not big numbers, but for fun 4wd is easier (so long as the box don't blow up) lol Subaru boys will understand this lol.

K03 will be maxed out at 270-280bhp, 300lbft with all supporting mods. I must say the guys at R tech were spot on when I had my engine de coke, I just wish they had a 4wd dyno!

Yes its true that you can get those figures but I am suprised that r-tech dont have a 4wd dyno as I am also after a stage 2+ map, just dont have the funds nor the time to get a uprated HPFP.
