TDI tuning mainly because it was cheaper. DTUK have the best reputation and Andrew from DTUK is an active member of the forum. Similar results from both though with just over 400bhp from an S4/S5.
Only benefit TDI have is they can fit it for you at one of their centres but the boxes are very easy to fit anyway and you will need to remove it and put it back yourself for servicing so may as well install a DTUK from the get go.
Fitting one transformed my S5 - i was expecting to notice a slight change but it is more noticeable than I expected. With the box and full Milltek system I am at around 414bhp.

S5 coupe mate. The exhaust tips really set the car off from the back as well. I would also try Roadrunner and Unit 20 for pricing on the Milltek give you some context.

I'm running a DTUK and had the car on a rolling road yesterday, I posted the results here.

Quite surprised by the results to be honest. They're usually able to increase power more significantly, even on a stock system. Looks like Audi are already pushing quite high with the stock tune

I personally think there would be much higher gains with a better intercooler. The turbo is also probably pretty much maxed out.

The DTUK gains are true to what Audi advertise but the actual gains are very minimal. True costing worked out at around £30 for every additional PS.

Although 500lbft at 1400 RPM is pretty powerful, was pushing 461 stock over 440 advised by Audi.

I'd be interested to see the speed differences between mine and a stock S5.

Definitely agree. I wasn't able to get an S5 due to insurance costs being ridiculous, so I opted for the 250 PS TFSI A5 instead. I think I'm going to play around with the options and see what the insurance cost would be to go Stage 2 on this.

Thanks Dan,

I've just requested a quote on the Adrian Flux site but if I remember correctly when I tried for my A3 I was unable to be insured through you as I'm 17. If that's changed please do let me know :)

Hi.
We can cover 17 year old drivers but obviously I couldn't say if we would be competitive or not though.
Regards,
Dan.

Well found out DTUK are just a couple of miles away spoke to Andrew who said go round and he would fit box which he did great service .
But never thought about insurance problems rang as soon as i got home but insurance company wont cover with tuning box have tried lots of companies this afternoon and the ones who will cover are doubling my £300 annual cost
So rang Andrew took car back and had box removed who again gave great service so now trying to get insurance advice first so any help would be great

LV were great for me. Added the Milltek and tuning box and it didnt change my premium. Quote me happy were the same. Harsh that! I've had quotes from Adrian Flux for my golf r and s5 and they were far more expensive than anyone else to be honest

Last time I was quoted via Adrian flux it was almost double the premium, might have changed now...

I've got my A5 insured with Admiral and declared the DTUK tuning box and pedal box. Only increased the premium by about 10%

Thank for reply's everyone not sure why I'm getting either huge increase or turned down asking a lot more than I paid on the M3 and that had full carbon exterior will keep looking

Have you tried LV? This whole insurance thing is so tricky, as post codes make big difference. Like the other poster, my premium increased by £30 with LV, but my renewal quote (as is usually the case) raised my annual premium overall (I have Q5 and JCW on multicar) by about £60. Was going to just renew as didn’t think that warranted the effort, but a quick money supermarket quote, and now have both cars with Admiral for £75 less than the 2018 premium.

About to change car to X3 M40i, and understand from DTUK I would just need a new harness to then give me well over 400bhp / 570nm. Stock is 355bhp / 500nm. Can’t decide whether to sell box and harness (for VAG 2.0 TFSI engines) or hang onto it and get new harness at some point (when the 4.8 0-62 doesn’t feel fast enough)

tried LV came out at £567 post code should be ok live in good area only pay £303 on car at the minute

Maybe it is a age thing as I pay £405 on a multicar - 2018 Q5 2.0 TFSI 252ps with tuning box (9 years NCD), and a 2018 Mini JCW 2.0 232ps (1 year NCD). I am late 40’s and Mrs 50.

I pay similar on a multicar policy for my s5 and wifes abarth 595 and were both mid 50s with plenty years no claims and no convictions so just cant understand how im getting such high prices
